Nanushka is looking for a talented Product Sustainability Manager to join our team in our Budapest HQ.

We’re Budapest-based with a global outlook, with teams in London, New York, and Milan. Reports to (direct manager): Sustainability Director  

 

Position Overview: As a Product Sustainability Manager, you are part of Nanushka’s sustainability & innovation team, and work closely with design, merchandising product, and R&D teams to ensure our standards and policies are followed, support progress towards collection sustainability targets, and monitor performance.

 

Responsibilities & Tasks:

 

  • Manage internal product sustainability roadmap and monitor the progress of the collection, material, and product sustainability performance (Womenswear, Menswear, Accessories & Shoes, Kids) on a regular basis, and identify opportunity and risk areas
  • Ensure Nanushka’s sustainability guidelines and policies are followed by internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain up to date guidelines and policies to latest knowledge and sector developments
  • Collaborate with design, product, and research and development teams to implement best-in-class techniques and processes for social and environmental sustainability at product-level
  • Build future-looking sustainable material, trims and packaging in the collection that includes but is not limited to natural fibers, biosynthetic, recycled-content materials, regenerative materials, biodegradable, and compostable materials
  • Be strategic in selecting the relevant materials and support teams with new material adoption and monitor performance
  • Serve as an expert on product sustainability and enable teams to integrate sustainability in their day-to-day
  • Research and stay-up-to-date with material & process innovators and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Participate in industry fairs and/or conferences focused on material and product sustainability and innovation to build in our strategy industry knowledge
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure Nanushka’s sustainability standards are met, identify collaboration and improvement areas
  • Engage with suppliers to improve transparency and traceability across the supply chain
  • Collect scope and transaction certificates for each collection
  • Manage and collate sustainability data from supply chain partners for impact & sustainability reporting
  • Support the development of product environmental footprint reporting
  • Summarise reports describing findings on product & materials sustainability: areas for improvement, policies, and recommendations for follow-up action
  • Collaborate with Eon, production, and marketing teams to grow Eon partnership (in collaboration with sustainability coordinator)
  • Support implementation of circular design principles and Eon Circular Product guidelines
  • Provide the retail, marketing, PR, customer service and wholesale teams with product and collection sustainability highlights and in-depth information on material/product credentials
  • Understand and communicate the environmental impact of materials

 

Skills

 

  • A system thinker dedicated to creating positive and lasting change in the fashion industry
  • In-depth knowledge and technical understanding of sustainability issues within the fashion industry such as biodiversity, climate change and the circular economy
  • Understanding of fashion supply chains and luxury fashion products
  • Good ability to understand and analyze information and data, and translate and convey them
  • Experience with project management involving multiple departments and stakeholders
  • Experience in operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong entrepreneurial and collaborative flair and solution-orientated
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Fluent in English
