MENG is looking for a hands-on Freelance Studio Assistant to support with day-to-day tasks at our headquarters in Chelsea Harbour’s Design Centre.

This is a flexible part-time position and a perfect opportunity to get an all-rounded understanding of the inner workings of a design studio within an independent luxury brand.

Who we are. An innovative art-led business. As a brand we create unique intricate and decorative artworks, which we print onto silk garments and showcase in some of the most established fashion retailers worldwide.

The ideal candidate:

  • Background in textile or print design (preferential)
  • Proficiency in Adobe software including Photoshop and Illustrator
  • IT literate with the ability to use all Microsoft Office applications
  • Good understanding and knowledge of fabric qualities and material
  • Understanding of garment construction and finishing techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail and a drive for quality is essential
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Great communication skills
  • A team player attitude, happy to work in a very small team
  • Reliable and professional at all times
  • An aesthetic eye and an interest in art, fashion, and design

Main duties include:

  • Website order processing and fulfilment
  • Organising and packing deliveries
  • Assist with quality control of fabrics and prints, occasionally travelling to factories in London as required
  • Sourcing trims, fabrics and accessories and new manufacturing finishes and techniques
  • Support with ad-hoc studio tasks as assigned

The position can potentially offer the opportunity to grow within the company and the candidate must be able to show the capability to take on responsibilities and work on their own initiative.
