About the Role

The Consumer Insights function at Gap Inc. is critical in driving customer centricity and ensuring the success and relevance of our businesses. Through rigorous analyses, creative thinking, and deep partnership with the business, we develop customer-focused strategic direction for our company. The Insights team reports to the Head of Data and Analytics and into the Chief Digital & Technology Officer and provides strategic support to our CEO and Brand and Functional Leadership Teams.

As a Sr. Analyst, you will play a key contributing role in informing strategic consumer insights programs and projects that support Gap Inc's priorities, growth, and long-range plans. This exciting role is part of the central consumer insights function and will be primarily focused on delivering insights and influencing strategic initiatives for the Strategic Growth Office. By uncovering what consumers want, why they want it, and how to best meet their needs, you will help to deliver on the ongoing transformation to more customer-centric decision-making in the business. This role exposes you to new growth opportunities for Gap Inc and our brands. You will also work on other foundational, cross-brand research projects which will serve to inform strategy and growth.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct quantitative research and analyses (survey design, programming, analysis and reporting) as well as qualitative research and analyses (e.g., question design, synthesizing open ended responses into themes)
  • Participate in iterative consumer testing as part of design sprints
  • Independently deliver on projects and assignments of diverse scope under general guidance.
  • Recommend creative approaches to answer novel consumer questions.
  • Communicate effectively with business partners translating complex ideas into compelling, actionable recommendations and data visuals

Who You Are

  • Professional experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights, Strategy Management consulting, or Analysis.
  • Proven track record of delivering on objectives
  • Natural curiosity: always asking the next question and seeking to understand at the nuanced level to spark a new idea
  • Strong in writing, speaking, and communication skills (ability to synthesize information into a clear, simple story and visualize data)
  • Proficient in programming & analyzing surveys using online survey platforms (e.g. Alchemer, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey); Experience applying foundational statistical concepts, statistical software experience strongly preferred (e.g. SPSS, SAS, JMP, SQL)
