Head of Sales Operations - ZMS

As part of the ZMS Sales and Marketing organisation, you will shape and lead a New Sales Operations unit. The ambition for the Sales Operations team is to ensure high standards of consulting and operational excellence within the Sales and Consulting units. This unit shall support our high paced 50%+ YoY Growth of Global Advertising revenues and will report into VP Sales.

This will be achieved through defining and continuously monitoring sales productivity, effectiveness and quality. The team will enhance competencies across all levels of the Sales & Consulting organization including competitive selling, partner management, sales training and co-develop new commercialization strategies through working closely with other functions.

The team will be supporting specific sales initiatives and overall sales operations which will require strong stakeholder management with other ZMS and Zalando units as well as actively facilitate sharing of best practices and influence their adoption across teams. The team will build a high-performance sales culture including through industry leading incentives/rewards mechanisms. Additionally, the new unit will encompass the responsibility of the sales back-office team.

  • Shape the vision and mission for the new sales excellence unit and staffing of the new unit
  • Provide sparring and guidance to sales units to develop and implement robust and innovative execution approaches with frameworks, tools and processes to ensure business success
  • Lead Sales Operations and effectiveness process projects in-line with commercial strategy and long term vision, operational plan and company wide initiatives, targets and go to Market plans.
  • Lead financial target and planning cycle processes, in close collaboration with the sales leadership Team and relevant business units as well as Finance and Business Analytics
  • Develop and deliver Sales Operations framework including indicators around sales teams efficiency as well as partner-centric performance in collaboration with Proposition and Commercial Steering, Central Analytics and the Sales Teams
  • Develop and improve reports, dashboards, planning tools in collaboration with sales Leadership Commercial Steering and Central Analytics.
  • Build a high-performance sales culture including through people development, coaching culture and industry leading incentives/rewards.

  • University Degree (Science, preferred, Economics); MBA is desirable.
  • English fluent spoken & written; any other European language is an advantage.
  • Experience (> 10 years) in the industry, specifically in similar sales operations roles in driving high impact initiatives and implementation
  • Track record in end to end sales Operations with strong focus on Data and Analytics to deliver impactful results.
  • Cross-functional work experience is a must; you understand different key areas of the business such as Finance, Analytics, e-commerce,marketing, tech teams.
  • Managed and lead teams in the past with the ability to grow and coach your team members
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
