The Team
The Tommy Hilfiger Buying and Plannning team is one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into 4 sub teams: Design, Production, Sourcing & Development, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales

The Buying and Planning Team plan the seasonal collection buys based on vendor allocation and regional requirements/holidays, within the calendar milestones, 4 times a year. Team ensures the sell in quantities are placed within the vendors, on a timely manner.

The Position
In this exciting role as Demand Planner you will ensure optimum Global (Seasonal) Planning and non-seasonal business is supported with relevant analysis and data from the range plan handover to the official purchase order creation based on desired KPI's.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create an early visibility on the monthly demand for long term planning, based on the historical data and the latest commercial expectations, which will provide agility to enable cost and lead time benefit in the constant changing fashion landscape.
  • Develop regional buy plans on option level across the TH world hierarchies, based on PLM download, sales deadlines, warehouse inbounding capacity, requested delivery dates of stock in stores, and information obtained from vendors regarding lead times.
  • Assess lead times and merchandise forecast quantities, and advise pre-buys (Excel) when early buy is required
  • Collaborate closely with Buying and Sourcing teams on planning for product groups, forecasting quantities per vendor, blocking capacity and continuously updating vendors regarding capacity requirements
  • Oversee and consult on operational activities of team, carrying end-responsibility for activities performed by team
  • Responsible for divisional reporting on weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis, summarizing pre bookings, liabilities and analyzing seasons ahead

The Ideal Candidate:
  • University degree in business, supply chain management or similar from an internationally minded Business School
  • Minimal 4 years of work experience, preferably in Consultancy or Fashion, ideally with a focus on logistics or related supply chain areas
  • Good analytical skills and ability to understand and map complex (supply chain) processes
  • Affinity with and passion for systems and applications and linking these to business processes
  • Excellent communication skills in English and ability to influence others in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent MS-Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Visio)
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
  • Ability to handle uncertainty and change in the work environment
  • Ambitious problem solver and 'can do' mentality
  • Strong team player who values a casual and fun work environment
  • Business English fluency (both written and verbal)
