In this Berlin based role, as a Local SEO Manager for Portugal, you will focus on developing Zalando as the starting point for fashion in the search results by providing excellent SEO optimization for our Portugal region. You will manage local SEO marketing activities with the aim to strengthen the Zalando organic customer acquisition in your market and drive organic search traffic to the Zalando website.

You will join a highly skilled and motivated SEO team of 20+ colleagues which consists of global and local SEO managers as well as backend developers. Together we drive the SEO topic within Zalando on all levels. As a local SEO manager you will also work closely with other marketing channels to help support and leverage local initiatives from an SEO point of view.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Responsible for SEO optimization & performance in Portugal
  • Implement local SEO related activities including on-page optimization (text content, website structure, etc) and off-page collaborations
  • Act on performance reports and deploy global projects or SEO best practices in your local markets
  • Discover local customer centric SEO opportunities on a keyword level to enable a continuous growth of organic traffic
  • Work closely with content agencies to ensure Zalando customers experience highest quality localised content on the website
  • Monitor local competitors in terms of SEO initiatives and organic visibility
  • Share newly identified strategies with peers to leverage knowledge on company level
  • Bring local SEO initiatives and -requirements to the global SEO team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Minimum 2 years experience in SEO relevant marketing activities, preferably in an e-Commerce or agency environment
  • Degree in marketing, fashion, communication or other relevant fields
  • Excellent language skills in Portuguese (Italian, Spanish and other languages is a plus)
  • Copywriting skills in the context of SEO quality assurance
  • Good knowledge in SEO tools (Google Search Console, Sistrix, SemRush, Searchmetrics, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog etc.)
  • Basic technical understanding of website structure and HTML
  • Experience of working with CMS tooling
  • Experience in collaborating with external agencies
  • Strong Excel/Google Suite knowledge with great analytical and reporting skills
  • Good communication skills and be a passionate advocate of SEO within Zalando
  • Some experience in ASO is a plus but not a must
