Compensation Analyst (Remote, Americas)

In this role you'll be:
  • Completing data analysis to evaluate our existing compensation programs, and to identify opportunities to reward our most valuable assets, our people.
  • Working with teams across Shopify to design and implement compensation programs that are innovative and cutting edge.
  • Supporting the annual salary planning/merit increases process, salary structures and equity grants to ensure alignment with Shopify's goals.
  • Diving into market data to ensure that our salary planning, review cycles, compensation ranges and equity strategy are aligned to our goals and company strategies.
  • Analyzing reports to assess data quality and identifying and investigating compensation data integrity issues.
  • Building and evolving compensation and equity tools.
  • Being a day-to-day contact for the Talent (HR) team.
  • Taking the lead on delivering new programs, and owning them by tracking successes/failures; pivoting when necessary


Requirements for the role:
  • You are data driven and a master at crunching numbers to identify trends and make informed decisions.
  • Experience supporting the design and delivery of total rewards programs.
  • Experience supporting Equity Compensation Plans.
  • You are a strategic thinker - you appreciate the challenges of building a compensation program and can anticipate how to avoid redundancies.
  • You have a desire to reinvent.
  • You have strong opinions, loosely held.

Bonus Experience:
  • Experience supporting the development of compensation plans specifically for technology companies.
  • Experience working with the Workday Compensation Module.
  • Experiencing laying the groundwork of a compensation program, and building it from scratch.
