The Team: As Shopify evolves, our relationships with some of the largest companies in the world become multi-faceted, more complex, and more impactful to our merchants. The Marketplaces team integrates and scales global partnerships with companies like Google, Facebook, TikTok, Apple, and Microsoft taking a holistic, cross-Shopify point of view.

Role Description: As a team member you'll be collaborating with our partnerships and platform teams to identify and drive complex first-of-a-kind integrations and growth initiatives with our most strategic partners. You'll be in charge of end-to-end platform integration, and the long-term success of these integrations, including innovative and experimental strategic product initiatives that span multiple Shopify product areas to enable our partners.

We are looking for highly collaborative individuals who are passionate about commerce, technology and product strategy. You'll interact heavily with both internal and external engineering, product, design, support, and marketing teams and be seen as an expert internally and externally on Shopify products, partner priorities and ecosystem trends. You'll need to be able to quickly create meaningful relationships both internally and externally, and ultimately, define and deliver impactful, product integrations. We value critical and creative thinkers and to be successful, you will need to have a strong strategic product experience, be driven, proactive, and action-orientated.

Shopify Marketplace Partners have a unique opportunity to disrupt the commerce space and partners today are already proving this to be possible. As a Marketplace Partner Manager, you will be critical by growing and activating our large network of platform partners - they are an integral part of the Shopify Partner Program. You will be responsible for the activation and growth of our US Marketplace partnerships, managing new platform partners in one of the most important markets in NA.

  • Think strategically about new product opportunities and business models and play an integral role in driving our marketplace product strategy through our partnerships
  • Lead discussions with Product/Eng/Design and cross-functional teams to define product solutions and ensure alignment with partners by building joint product roadmaps. Work will include product scoping and co-development, product release management with a robust set of KPIs and success metrics, GTM plans and product growth strategies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You're comfortable defining, proposing and implementing cross-platform product integrations with limited resources
  • Be independently minded and laser focused on partnership product integration goals

  • An ability to think strategically and creatively using sound business judgment
  • You're skilled in market research to identify gaps, needs and potential solutions
  • Tenacity and passion for quality and details. You know how to be persuasive with facts and numbers
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. A love of storytelling.
  • A proven history of success in product management roles at high-tech or SaaS software companies
  • Experience owning and driving the building and shipping of complex, SaaS products at scale
  • Proven experience working with a highly empowered cross-functional team of designers, developers, marketers, and customers to launch partner integrations and influence strategy
  • A genuine excitement for solving merchant problems and a strong sense of empathy for the merchant and their buyers
  • You work fast, you're resourceful and you have a go-getter mentality. You also have the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • You have a genuine interest and passion for the industry
