As a Senior Applied Scientist in the Content Visibility team you will develop Machine Learning products that automatically create personalized, engaging and inspiring content experiences for our 48+ million customers. WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

- Advance the machine learning products that select the digital content for our individual customers in real time on the Zalando homepage, newsletters, and other important experiences.
- Solve real world challenges using ML, such as tailoring content experiences for each individual customer to optimize for the whole customer lifetime rather than an immediate interaction.
- Engage with some of the most exciting challenges in the intersection of Whole-page Recommendation, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Customer Behavior Prediction, and Real-time Auctioning.
- Collaborate closely with experienced colleagues within the team, applied science leaders, product managers and business stakeholders. Mentor junior and mid level applied scientists and contribute to our applied science community.
- Ph.D., MSc or equivalent experience in Machine Learning or Data Science
- Solid experience building fit-for-purpose ML models, ideally in the areas of recommendation, reinforcement learning, customer behavior prediction, or advertising systems
- Track record of publications and achievements in academia or industry. Deep understanding of the theory behind the methods in your domain and best practices of their application
- Strong experience in Python and ML libraries, TensorFlow/Keras, or PyTorch, and experience with Spark SQL
- Ability to take ownership of data science initiatives and communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
