The Position

The Sustainability Specialist supports the co-creation, operationalization of the environmental activities and programs related to the development, implementation and expansion of sustainable and circular product within all apparel and close to body across PVH Europe and TH Global.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead contact for the development and operationalization of apparel and close to body related sustainable and circular strategies and targets, ensuring that sustainable products are aligned with the global sustainability strategies.
  • Develop strategies and goals specific for apparel and close to body with focus on use of more sustainable materials.
  • Research new sustainable materials options and ensure availability to the business and ensure alignment to the overarching sustainable and circular product strategies and targets.
  • Coordinate working groups within the business ensuring progress and results against milestones.
  • Set up meetings and engage with relevant external stakeholders including suppliers, NGO's, working groups E.g, EMF, Canopy, Textile Exchange to support with overall strategies.
  • Be the support function to the business on sustainable materials and new sustainable product innovations.
  • Ensure consistent seasonal reporting of sustainable and circular product results to provide visibility and opportunity to communicate to stakeholders though tools and systems
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication on apparel and close to body product stories related to circular and sustainable product.
  • Validate communication for sustainable innovations for TH and CK EU in apparel and close to body.
  • Develop and manage tools to ensure consistent data and communication at all product touchpoints.
  • Support with internal quarterly sustainability newsletter.
  • Identify educational gaps within sustainable and circular product and support with development of training and education to stakeholder groups.
  • Support with seasonal education and tool kits to support Sustainable and Circular product stories.
Sustainable Innovation
  • Cross functional collaboration with innovation team on pilots for sustainable innovations and start-ups relating to apparel and close to body.
  • Be up to date on industry trends and newness.
  • Research seasonal sustainable innovations and sustainable material alternatives to support overarching strategies and goals.
  • Be the expert to the business on sustainable materials and new sustainable product innovations.
  • Support and hands on assistance of ad hoc requests from the Senior sustainability manager

The Ideal Candidate:
  • At least 5-7 x years' experience in a product sustainability role.
  • Passionate about creating change in the fashion industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of sustainability topics, such as animal welfare, sustainable materials and circularity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strategic minded with ability to operationalize implementation.
  • Experience in a fast paced complex environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
