We are looking for a Head of Buying to join our Braveheart team based in Soho Works White City, London. This is a permanent role on a full-time basis.

As the Head of Buying, you will play an integral role in managing and growing The Founded, while contributing to the overall group strategy as part of the management team. Reporting to the MD of Braveheart, you will bring buying excellence and strategic thinking, while successfully navigating the dynamic environment of a start-up. Flexibility, adaptability and forward thinking skills will be key. We are looking for someone who can create a strong team culture and lead by example.

THE ROLE

  • Support and lead strategic initiatives for the business as part of the management team
  • Build long range category and assortment strategy, in collaboration with Merchandising Director
  • Manage and grow brand partnerships to maximize existing business and recruit new brands to join the platform
  • Drive new business opportunities from start to finish from pitch to terms negotiations to execution. Leverage existing brand relationships to on board new brands to The Founded
  • Develop and deliver against financial targets and long term goals. P&L responsibility
  • Drive trade results against key metrics such as sales, assortment, inventory, discount, customer, traffic and profit. Action and solution oriented to deliver optimal outcome
  • Manage Buying calendar, aligned with key stakeholders
  • Create marketing calendar of product, trend and brand messaging, in partnership with the Content & Marketing teams
  • Hire and develop the Buying function, incorporating best practices in relationships, strategy, process and team
  • Focus on the development of the team – supporting, coaching and creating an open feedback culture

THE PERSON

  • 10 years of Buying experience, ideally within an international e-commerce environment.
  • Extensive knowledge in digital commerce, including commercial, marketing and platform analytics.
  • Commercially minded with a passion for trend and product.
  • Existing relationships with commercial and contemporary brands which fit The Founded target customer.
  • Solution orientated with an entrepreneurial attitude - thrives in a fast paced and growing business.
  • Passionate about promoting change for the business.
  • Effective communicator - ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences and formats.
  • Adopts a collaborative way of working, forming strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing industry best practices and build a winning team.
  • Demonstrates empathy, leads by example and contributes to building a desirable team culture.
