About the Role

This role will own responsibilities encompassing processes that span the GapTech (Technology) Finance Portfolio team. You will engage with business partners across the GapTech organization to obtain and exchange information; execute work assignments with limited supervision; exercise analytical and problem solving skills to bring variances and issues to the attention of management; and participate in financial projects. This position provides ideal exposure to the accounting and forecasting processes supporting Gap Inc.'s technology function and is a great opportunity for developing skills for future growth opportunities in Gap Inc. What You'll Do

  • Support the financial project close process which includes the compilation of financial data extracts for the technology portfolio of projects and working with business partners to exchange information, research variances to identify cause and bring to successful resolution
  • Prepare project costing and general ledger journal entries for the GapTech project portfolio month-end close process. Entries will range from reclass entries to more complex accrual and pre-paid entries
  • Assist with technology maintenance forecast and prepaid accounting
  • Assist with the financial asset creation of technology hardware and software assets
  • Prepare, analyze, interpret and distribute various reports to be used for forecasting, financial close and management review
  • Collaborate on improvement projects to increase quality, efficiencies and productivity. Including identification of opportunities and recommend changes
  • Partner with the team in the planning and implementation of initiatives and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and practices


Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 1-2 years of financial or business analysis experience preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated customer service and problem resolution skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to maintain effective business partner relationships across the organization
