About the Role

The Sr. Director Strategic Sourcing leads and develops a team of sourcing professionals supporting the end-to-end sourcing needs of Gap Inc.'s Global Supply Chain. This includes all areas of Global Transportation, including Origin/ Consolidation Services, Inbound Ocean and Air Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, Domestic Ground Operations [TL, LTL, Rail], 3PL/ Store Delivery Services, Parcel Operations, Specialized/ Non-Merchandise Freight. In addition to Transportation, the Sr Director will lead Strategic Sourcing for Fulfillment, Facilities, Construction, Store Supplies, Energy/Waste/Sustainability, and Omni-Packaging.

This role will lead a function that manages annual spend through category strategies, negotiating contracts (approximately 300 annually) and managing supplier relationships. The Sr. Director is responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships with external service providers as well as key internal stakeholders, and integrates with operational business leaders to form on-going strategic partnerships. This leader is required to leverage professional partnerships (internal & external) to stay informed of key industry best practices and trends and with other Retailers within the industry to form collaborative networking opportunities. The Sr. Director is responsible for developing the leadership and coaching skills of the managers on their team and across the department.

What You'll Do

  • Build strategic relationships by partnering across varied functions and levels with senior internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive results and influence change
  • Develop Category/Sourcing Strategies in support of business function's Long Range Plans
  • Own the development and execution of best-practice strategies and business continuity plans
  • Execute / maintain multi-year contractual agreements that leverage Gap Inc.'s scale and long-term interests in meeting / exceeding service and cost objectives
  • Leverage analysis and experience to scope and prioritize new sourcing opportunities and make recommendations to senior leadership

Who You Are

  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; can see a problem from multiple angles and provide several viable options for resolution
  • Ability to work under pressure with high sense of urgency, and manage multiple priorities with confidence
  • Well versed in Sourcing/Procurement competencies and strategies
  • Knowledgeable on the regulatory and legal aspects of rates and economics of transportation services, costs, operations, and negotiations
  • Previous Retail experience preferred
