In addition to its direct-to-consumer business, DeMellier is stocked in leading department stores such as Le Bon Marche, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, David Jones and Lane Crawford among others.

Assisting and reporting into the Head of Marketing with a direct communications line to the Founder & Managing Director, the Merchandiser & Business Analyst is a key role within the DeMellier team that will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to have a direct impact on the development of a fast-growing designer fashion brand across all channels by informing key decision making related to collection buying, providing insightful data analysis and being a central point of contact for ecommerce, wholesale and business development teams for sales and inventory analysis.

Key responsibilities:

Buying & Merchandising

  • Prepares, updates and owns seasonal production/buying files every season and help the Founder & Managing Director with buying decisions for each collection, compiling data on ecommerce and wholesale sales, inventory & production and suggesting collection plan and buying quantities at SKU level.
  • Update the Buying file regularly and monitor stock levels to adjust production quantities if needed and making sure the brand’s ecommerce inventory is as optimized as possible.
  • Liaising and sharing key information on collection production, production updates etc. with key departments within the business so they can adjust strategy, especially Ecommerce, Wholesale, Marketing & Production teams.
  • Coordinate delivery dates with the production team to ensure smooth communication internally to ecommerce & wholesale teams.
  • Be the “gatekeeper” of the business’s overall production and inventory strategy, helping teams move inventory when needed, help identifying risks and opportunities and be the key point of contact for all teams for product / collection launch strategy

Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Assist the Founder & Head of Marketing in developing DeMellier’s strategy by preparing regular sales and stock analyses and trade reports (weekly, monthly and ad hoc)
  • Support the Founder & the Head of Marketing with ad hoc analyses.

The ideal candidate:

  • Degree in Business, Finance or Fashion Planning / Merchandising or similar
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of Planning, Buying or Merchandising experience, ideally for a Fashion / Accessories / Luxury brand
  • Impeccable working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (comfortable using large Excel files, complex formulas, pivot tables) & the Google suite
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A true team player, comfortable working in a small structure and with a “can do” attitude
  • Eager to learn and take part in the growth of a fast-paced brand
