As a Buyer for our Kids Footwear Highstreet & Casual // Kids Textile Designer teams, you're part of a high performing and target driven team. Through your industry knowledge and passion for fashion you're creating new and innovative ways to connect with consumers whilst delivering strong results. You buy and develop your own brand portfolio, with ownership and accountability of unit KPIs, working in close collaboration with your Merchandising team.You are responsible for the development and implementation of unit brand strategies, and actively contribute to setting and delivering unit/cluster strategy and targets. You use your strong negotiation and project management skills to deliver success to your unit and to meet the company's ambitious growth plans.

We have a role in Kids Footwear Highstreet & Casual AND one in Kids Textile Designer.
  • Proactive ownership of your brand portfolio, reporting into the Senior Buyer. Determining the creative direction of your assortment, identifying opportunities and setting brand strategies for the unit while following Zalando's platform strategy. Supporting the unit by identifying trends, sourcing new brands and negotiating the best terms for Zalando.
  • Together with merchandising, being responsible for defining your brand's seasonal/ long term strategy including budgets, assortment planning, whilst consulting the unit owner and strategically important stakeholders. In season monitoring of the OTB and reviewing the performance of your brands, making recommendations and taking actions based on valid numbers to enable solutions
  • Maintaining and developing excellent relationships with our brands, always challenging and evolving business to support the company strategy by defining brand specific strategies, executing them in collaboration with the brand partners
  • Constantly exchanging with other departments like Content, Logistics, Marketing, Production & overarching Buying teams is key to your work.You will work cross functionally to drive sales and maximize profit, ensuring that we act in line with the whole organization.
  • Encompass an inclusive culture and team environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or comparable field. Minimum 4 years of buying experience in a Head Office environment or within an e-commerce retailer, with a background in fashion. Experience in Footwear and/or Kids and/or Designer is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills, knowledge in MS Office (especially Excel and formulas) and combining the passion for numbers with fashion and trends.
  • Proven track record of defining strategies and executing against action plans to deliver results. Negotiation is in your blood, and you are a strong communicator with suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Quick thinking and proactive attitude, which also means you keep on top of things in a fast-paced environment, while embracing collaboration. Team focused attitude whilst ensuring strong independent working practices.
