Are you our next Pattern Maker? We're looking for someone to join our Product function within the Sourcing team at our new Development Centre to help to set up the pattern making function. The Development Centre is a strategic investment by Gymshark to build a competitive advantage in our product creation capabilities. You will be the mastermind creating patterns into physical garments (ladies and menswear).

You will be working closely with the Development Centre Manager to set up the pattern making function; you'll need to be self-motivated with experience in multiple apparel categories in knits and wovens. Your core competency will be pattern making and grading, with the ability to work cohesively with design, product development, and technical design; you'll be an and expert in understanding fit, movement, body proportion, and anatomy.

  • Setting up Lectra proficiently and other software programs that are business relevant.
  • Creating first patterns, along with pattern corrections, working alongside the designer and seamstresses to ensure garments are
    produced to the design intent.
  • Working closely with design and product development, participating in fittings sessions to achieve desired fit and aesthetics.
  • Drafting basic fit blocks from body measurements.
  • Adjusting patterns following the designer's and PD comments.
  • Attending and contributing to fit meetings for evaluation and revisions.
  • Partnering with design and technical design teams to execute intended patterns for designs with attention to all details with an
    understanding of fabric challenges.
  • Utilising flat patterns, as well as 2D and 3D computer pattern making programs for samples.
  • Creating original shapes and pushing the boundaries of traditional garment construction.
  • Digitising patterns and adding the pattern information into electronic files to prepare them for manufacturing.
  • Checking and supporting the sample making process, ensuring quality standards and measurements guidelines are met.
  • Managing and maintaining block pattern library and supporting documentation.
  • Maintaining the style file database and product library, including archives.
  • Evaluating, creating and implementing standard grading rules to ensure consistency in fit and contribute actively in terms of fit/ pattern
  • Providing expertise in garment construction, garment technology, quality and fit, acting as a consultant on fit, sizing and pattern related topics.


  • You have a bachelor's degree in pattern making or fashion design specialising in a pattern making Degree in Fashion Design (or
    equivalent) with a high level of accuracy in pattern making and grading with experience working in a high-end brand.
  • Advanced experience working as a pattern maker within the apparel industry.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • To be highly organised and efficient with excellent planning and time management skills.
  • An understanding of fit, movement, body proportion and anatomy.
  • Good eye for proportion, attention to detail and quality of garments.
  • Excellent attitude to learning and personal development.
  • Ability to work well with others and a capacity to follow instruction.
  • Ability to communicate well in both written and verbal forms.
  • Experience in using Lectra proficiently or similar software program.

When normal office working resumes, our expectation would require candidates to attend 5 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
