Where the Head of People & Culture fits:

We’re looking for an experienced Head of People & Culture to join our team and lead all the HR requirements for our rapidly growing business. You’ll support on a strategic and operational level and be responsible to provide day-to-day advice and guidance on employment legislation, best practice, policies, procedures along with all training and development programmes for the team. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to coach, challenge, and support them as our business continues to evolve and scale and help to build an incredible culture for our team and all our people and be a ‘best in class’ employer. We’ll look for you to identify areas to improve processes and ways of working and make things easier and better for our business and all our people.

This is a senior position within the business that plays a crucial part throughout the whole business and you'll work closely with every department including all the directors.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Help us to become a 'best in class’ employer - develop an amazing working culture, create a workplace where everyone can contribute and thrive.
  • Lead all recruitment for the business, working with the senior leadership team to support all hires for the business.  
  • Create all contracts and employee agreements and handbooks for the business. 
  • Manage the onboarding process for all new hires.
  • Facilitate a learning and growth environment within the business - manage the training, coaching, and development programmes for the full team including coordinating and tracking all performance reviews. 
  • Work on a wide range of strategic people-related matters and projects including team structure, employee engagement and retention, organisational culture, and change management.
  • Lead on employee relations issues, both formal and informal.
  • Provide support and  advice to line managers on the implementation of all people policies.
  • Collating employment stats, hours, and all relevant payroll data in preparation for the finance team whilst being the point of contact for our team. 
  • Work closely with the Directors to champion all brand values and behaviours.

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years HR experience
  • Ability to take a commercial approach when making recommendations to the senior leadership team on all HR matters
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to get on with a wide range of people at all levels
  • Strong experience of conducting recruitment interviews
  • Fully CIPD qualified, part-CIPD qualified or equivalent qualifications
  • experience of reviewing and drafting HR policies and/or employee handbooks
  • A sound knowledge of current employment legislation and recognised HR best practice is required
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Confident using Excel and Word
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Naturally confident with strong communication skills - both written and verbally
