Job Details
We are looking for a passionate, highly motivated, talented and driven individual with a good understanding of Payables to join our team.
The role is varied and will be responsible for the Accounts Payable function ensuring all processes are streamlined and all month-end deadlines are adhered to.
This role will also manage the day-to-day operations of the outsourced Accounts Payable function (2 people) while setting up the payments as part of their weekly schedule. The ideal candidate will have owned the whole accounts payable function for over 2 years in their previous role.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organise and manage the work of the outsourced accounts payable function
- Review and post invoices from suppliers ensuring VAT and the Supplier information is correct
- Create and process Purchase Orders
- Maintain expenses system
- Prepare and prioritise weekly payment run
- Run weekly creditors with commentary
- Bank posting of GBP, EUR, USD, JPY accounts
- Deal with supplier queries and be the main contact
- Month end reconciliations
- Daily cashbook update
- File monthly Intrastat returns
- Reconcile C79
The Ideal Candidate
Skills:
- Double entry book keeping
- 2 years plus Purchase ledger experience
- Intermediate Excel knowledge
- Experience in working with Sage X3 ERP and Retail Pro (not essential)
- Retail and e-commerce background
- Working towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT
Attitude:
- An integral member of the admin team and bring cohesion between HQ and the store
- Add value to the role and always looking for ways to make things better
- Willingness to work hard and to drive the business forward
- Pay great attention to detail and have an inquisitive mind to resolve daily issues
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines within a team environment
- Must be highly organised, dedicated and able to prioritise tasks
