SUMMARY

Responsible for creating original patterns for Design/Product Development

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned accordingly by the VP of Product Development.

• Create paper patterns and muslins through techniques of draping and flat pattern making
• Attend all fittings with design, take correction notes and execute corrections
• Independently research to find new details, finishes, fabric manipulations
• Work quickly and execute multiple patterns
• Supervise construction of sample making by directing and monitoring fabric cutters and sewers
• Work with outside contractors; ensure first sample from factory is correct and reflects original pattern
• Active involvement with Production Department in adaptation of original sample pattern to production pattern
• Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and competitor product
• Attend VIP fittings and together with design; create made to measure garments; travel if required
• Use of Lectra System to work more efficiently when drafting patterns; build pattern library within the system

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in high-end/luxury women’s wear
• Knowledge of cut & sew and stretch fabrics as well as embroideries
• Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Knowledge of the Lectra System a plus
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Must have strong organizational and managerial skills; be able to prioritize and multitask

PHYSICAL REQUIREMTS

• Must be able to stand/move for prolonged periods of time
• Travel as needed
• Fulltime, in-office position
