The Senior Accountant is to serve as a key member of the accounting team to ensure the accurate and integral reporting of the financial statements of the North American region to Stella McCartney Division headquarters, in addition to, departmental stakeholders and external/internal auditors. The Senior Accountant's main responsibilities are to oversee all accounting aspects of all cost centers, including the monthly close, Balance Sheet reconciliation, lease agreement analysis, landlord sales audits, store MRP preparation and reporting, in addition to many other related responsibilities. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with the operational teams and management in identifying variances to Budget/Forecast and assist them with expense tracking and analysis. The Senior Accountant will also assist in all planning analysis helping to drive the forecast and budget process.

Your Mission:
  • Oversee the entire monthly closing
  • Provide necessary analytical support to the business; account reconciliations
  • Monitor financial performance, highlight trends across key performance indicators and analyze any substantial variances in order to understand the underlying causes
  • Maintain the account mapping for the financial reporting system
  • Provide store management and the Store Operations team with store expense analysis
  • Serve as a financial resource to store managers, educating them on the ins and outs of their individual contribution report
  • Serve as primary audit liaison for landlord sales audits
  • Analyze store lease/licensee agreements and ensure proper accounting procedures
  • Process month-end journal entries
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide monthly commentary on YTD balance sheet movements
  • Analyze complex financial information and provide timely and accurate financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • Provide guidance to Budget holders in terms of expenses and closely work with them to control costs
  • Assist in the development or improvement of internal controls and corporate procedures
  • Review vendor invoice payments, wires, and T&Es to ensure proper coding, authorization and budgetary approval, and adherence to company policy
  • Provide all requested financial information necessary for Tax Provision calculations
  • Prepare requested data and/or sampling requests for internal and external auditors
  • Review, validate and upload monthly Treasury journal entries
  • Prepare executive level presentations and ad hoc reporting
  • Work on special projects as assigned


Your Talent:
  • Experience in luxury retail and/or wholesale is desirable
  • Prior accounting experience at a senior level
  • Self-starter with the ability to organize and manage own workload
  • Confident in managing all aspects of the accounts
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines


Systems & Essentials:
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SAP Accounting system is desirable
