OVERVIEW:

As a brand, we shout about our mission to unite the conditioning community. To you and I, this is simply bringing together the Gymshark family - those that wear our products, support the brand, follow our Athletes or give us a β€˜like' on socials - basically all the people that have made us the success we are today.

We are super excited, because for the first time in Gymshark history, we'll be taking our purpose offline and setting up shop with a permanent retail space in central London. Our store will behave in a way that's totally unique to Gymshark. That's why this won't be your typical retail role - if you think experience first, retail second, then you won't be far wrong.

The Visual Lead at this store will be vital in shaping and maintaining what our family feel online, IRL. As a crucial role in the senior leadership team of our retail space, you'll be key in supporting the whole team to help bring Gymshark to life, in real life.

To smash this role, you'll need to have the above mindset, and be someone that your team looks up to for inspiration and guidance. You'll be responsible for supporting all elements of our unique and disruptive visual impact, working closely with our GSHQ teams to collaborate, ideate and make sure that our physical offering is always evolving.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Represent the Gymshark culture and values, be a natural brand ambassador in everything you do and be passionate about the community and their experience of Gymshark
  • Responsible for supporting the overall day-to-day running and strategic visual merchandising execution of the store, whilst thinking about the β€˜what next' and being present in the now
  • Be clear on Gymshark and the retail vision, ready to execute in market
  • Identify and share opportunities both within Visual Merchandising and for the wider Gymshark business
  • Delivering feedback and working alongside your co-collaborators globally, from Chief Product Officer to the Merchandising team and everyone in between
  • Support with the hiring, developing, and leading of a diverse and world class team, that is as excited about Gymshark as we are
  • Support the management of your team, delivering training, creating learning opportunities and supporting everyone to be their best
  • Strive to achieve KPIs for your area of responsibility, as demonstrated by the business, by motivating your team through passionate leadership and coaching
  • Be a role model for brand, customer experience, product knowledge and operational best practice and be able to train the wider team
  • Support Gymshark's most important assets: our people, customers, and community. Ensure they and their environment are safe and sound at all times. Also have responsibility for physical assets such as building, stock and tech and ensure any losses are minimised and everything is running as it should
  • Support the store management with the execution of store driven projects as and when needed
  • Assume Duty Manager responsibilities of the store when required


VISUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will align our product and brand strategy with our customer journey and experience at the forefront to innovate, create and disrupt the retail landscape. We are known for our creative campaigns online and across our social channels, and this role will bring these to life with unrivalled creativity and excitement that drives conversation between us, our community, and customers. This is both a strategic and hands-on role.

  • As the ultimate brand and product experience gatekeeper, you set the standard for Gymshark IRL, elevating the brand and product experience for our community to interact with
  • Reinvent, inspire, and test the visual experience of merchandising, through flexible retail, digital content, and creative merchandising
  • Drive the business through commercial product merchandising, always informed by data and able to confidently share the decision-making process
  • Review stock on hand, individual line and category performance through analysis of commercial reports, to make informed decisions on stock movement and positioning
  • Understand, observe, and learn from customer movements and points of impact and engagement, to fuel future creative approaches, supported by data and feedback
  • Understand the impact and opportunity of store windows in attraction, driving interest and leading customers into the store. Test and learn from changing display, across all digital and physical content
  • Strong market awareness, from competitor activity to savvy commercial campaigns
  • Own the store commercial calendar, working with store leadership to ensure all commercial considerations are captured (cultural, local, and global activity) and potential impacts and opportunities are planned out and optimised where appropriate for the brand
  • Drive all brand messaging throughout the store, with particular attention on sustainability information and all points of interest and education, plus passion points with our community
  • Inspire and involve the whole team with training activities, to build comfort and expertise around all elements of product, display and merchandising
  • Identify and develop team members who have a passion for visual merchandising and display, and have an innovative and disruptive approach
  • Own all display equipment, props, and signage, and ensure the team know how to use, store, manage and protect them
  • Lead regular commercial floor walks with a variety of audiences from team members to chiefs
  • Collaborate with a multitude of GSHQ stakeholders and chiefs

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Community building in a new market
  • Senior management experience in a fast paced, high volume, agile environment
  • Proven commercial background
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills
  • Strong conceptual thinking to drive creative activations
  • Meticulous eye for detail, and exceptionally high presentation standards
  • Informed of the latest trends and new concepts in fitness apparel
  • Proven track record of managing / leading / developing teams of 100+
  • Highly effective communicator, written and verbal
  • Must be able to take and give constructive feedback
  • Comfortable shifting gears and spinning multiple plates
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Acutely aware of the everchanging macro and competitor landscape, how that impacts your business and team and plan accordingly
  • Experience of a unified commerce environment and multi-site management would be an advantage
