About the Role

In this role, you will embody Do The Right Thing by protecting People, Assets, and Brands. You will work in an energized, fast paced environment focused on creating a safe environment for our employees, teams, and customers; this is critical to driving our Brand Power, Enduring Customer Relationships, and exuding our commitment to Team and Values. You'll need to understand the big picture strategy and work with cross-functional teams and external partners.

What You'll Do

  • Supports Asset Protection strategies, standards, and processes using a customer centric mindset to deliver results, drive store sales, and maximize efficiencies and productivity.
  • Works independently to resolve background and drug screening concerns and engages vendor as needed. Participates in cross-functional project working committees and leverages subject matter expertise to identify project risks related to background and drug screening program with the ability to identify mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Administers daily operations of background and drug screening programs for the company as required. Central point of contact for internal and external business partners and serves as subject matter expert for background and drug screening process. Handles confidential information daily and acts as final decision-maker for background and drug screens that qualify for review status based on defined adjudication guidelines. Works closely with Associate Program Manager and Manager of AP Operations, HR and Talent Acquisition, as well as Corporate Legal on unprecedented issues related to background and drug screens for guidance. Serves as a filter to identify potential fraudulent Social Security Cards and works closely with the Social Security Administration, Gap Inc. Asset Prevention, and Human Resources/Employee Relations on escalations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks for evolving business environment.
  • Leverages data gained through process evaluations and Brand data research to influence investigative direction, management. Monitors program activity by generating program and distributing reports on screenings. Document, monitor, and report on progress based on analysis. Coordinate internal resources (which may include user development testing) and timelines to ensure related projects are completed on time with high quality. Identify and understand project risks, coordinate with respective teams as applicable to mitigate and resolve. Communicate and contribute to program planning, execution, and delivery Ensures vendor meets contractual obligation and escalates as needed. Audits vendor invoices to substantiate charges and processes for payment. Provides monthly forecast to Corporate Finance and provides input to annual budget recommendations. Performs mandatory monthly compliance audits on new hires and partners with Asset Prevention field teams and Store Operational Audit team for store follow-up and accountability. Records and retains all follow-up feedback received from field and escalates as needed.
  • Able to communicate difficult concepts in a simple manner.
  • Conducts annual training and creates specific training modules as needed. Contributes updates to training manuals, policy, job aids and disclosure forms as needed or as required by law.

  • Adheres to industry practice mandates related to background and drug screening program. Stays abreast to industry changes and mandates related to background and drug screening program.


Who You Are

  • Experience using data to tell a story to determine and implement solutions
  • Experience in customer service and/or a high-pressure, multitask environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build diverse relationships and influence collaborative decision making to support Asset Protection strategies, including the ability to negotiate and build consensus across multiple stakeholders and functions
  • Ability to actively learn and immediately apply learnings into decisions and behaviors
  • Present problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner
  • Works with highly sensitive and confidential information and communicates within strict guidelines. Takes required security precautions to protect personal and confidential company data.
