FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION IN PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

Job Details

The ideal candidate will be expected to teach specialized manufacturing courses in information systems, cutting room processes, production technology, industrial engineering, facilities management, computer-based costing, and technical operation research applications as they relate to manufacturing.

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of PDM or PLM software and must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel and Access. The successful candidate will possess knowledge of 3D body scanning and printing, and have industry appropriate certifications, i.e. MOS, Six Sigma, etc.

Possess expertise in the areas of flexible materials/applications.
Work with Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and introduce students to 3D modeling concepts (3D body scanning) and 3D printing.
Assist in curriculum development as it relates to new advances and innovations in manufacturing technology.

Lead other academic and industry research efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required for hiring, with an earned Master's degree in an appropriate field of study required for tenure; and seven (7) years of demonstrated managerial experience with a global sourcing component or background. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A terminal degree in an area related to production management and operations research is preferred. Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred.

This position will be required to constantly read and comprehend, occasionally perform calculations, constantly verbally communicate, frequently analyze, and constantly write. The working conditions for this position will be any combination of the classroom, lab, and/or office space. Certain roles may be required to handle machinery and chemicals. The physical requirement for this position will require occasional sitting, constant standing, occasional bending, frequent walking, and occasionally lifting 10 lbs. or less.
