We're looking for someone special to join the Talent Support Operations team as an Employee Support Coordinator in the EMEA and/or APAC region. Our Talent Support Operations team impacts those memorable moments in a candidate and employee journey at Shopify. From reach outs to shortlist, how and when they receive their job offer, day-to-day questions supporting them through constant change and iteration, all the way through to their last day at Shopify. Our mission is to deliver a human-centered, consistent candidate, employee and Talent experience so Shopify can continue to grow and make commerce better for everyone.

As an Employee Support Coordinator you will work closely with our employees throughout their entire journey at Shopify, and take pride in being the first touchpoint, supporting them from their first to last day at Shopify. Our EMEA and APAC regions are growing quickly, with multiple entities, you will provide a caring, efficient and localized approach to supporting all employees with any Talent-related questions they have or support they need.

In this role you'll be:
  • Front line support for all Shopify employees (ie: slack, email, helpdesk, office hours), assisting them with all things having to do with working at Shopify
  • Performing HR administrative tasks including; supporting employee day-to-day needs, right to work verifications, updating employee information, employment verification letters, exits, family leaves, etc.
  • Working closely with our employees throughout their entire journey at Shopify, helping people every step of the way.
  • Exercising your knowledge in payroll, taxable benefits; Employment Standards and Law in multiple jurisdictions; and Shopify programs on employee leaves within the region
  • Championing our employee experience as the first point of contact for employees
  • Onboarding new employees to Talent-specific information, programs, people
  • Maintaining quality and accessibility of Talent & Employee-facing knowledge (Intranet, Knowledge Management System, Google Drive etc) in order to focus on solving true employee problems
  • Acting as the first tier for questions and assistance, and maintaining our benefit and perk program.


Qualifications

  • Experience in a high volume HR role, including; administering a benefits plan and understanding/explaining taxable benefits; understanding and enacting Employment Standards and Law across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA and/or APAC region; assisting and managing employee leaves, including parental leaves; supporting employees with questions; and conducting exit interviews
  • A high level of empathy and care for stakeholders and employees
  • Love of, and a wizard with, all things administrative and operational
  • Experience with Workday would be an asset
  • Attention to details and accuracy are a must
  • A history of learning and picking up on new things quickly, and the ability to get up to speed and understand how complex things work
  • Rolling up your sleeves to get things done and work independently on your own
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills, as well as great judgment
  • German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, or other language skills will be anasset
