The Position
The Assistant Designer supports the Knit/Jersey Design Team for Calvin Klein Jeans. The key objective of this role is to support the team with the seasonal design for products such as Cut and Sew Knit, Sweatshirts, Tops and Graphic tees across genders (man/woman/unisex), aligning with the brand’s aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working and assisting within the Knits Design Team. While junior, this position is vital to support the Knits/Jersey Design Team.
• Supporting the team to create an Knit/Jersey/Graphic tee collection each season, in line with the Calvin Klein Jeans aesthetic.
• Working closely with the Graphic Team and applying the seasonal graphics on Graphic tee shapes.
• Preparing all sketches (2D & 3D) for divisional digital presentations and focus on the follow up of each style.
• Preparing all confirmed styles to be digitalized, with garment worksheets
• Following PLM (product lifecycle management) from beginning to end.
• Preparing and update of the Digital Foam Boards with the collection overviews for internal and external presentation purposes.
• Supporting with creation of big ideas collection overviews and key looks team presentation boards.
• Researching and identifying jersey shapes and trends across genders (man/woman)that work in the Calvin Klein Jeans aesthetic.
• Working to the Divisional Calendar to meet deadlines
• Working closely and communicating daily on challenges and changes that arise during the development of styles.
• Partner with the Product Developer to ensure a smooth work flow each season.
• Supporting the team and working closely with Tech and Product Development teams on garment fittings, based on block systems and new seasonal complex styles.
• Ensure all styles are to the highest possible standard and help find solutions to any problems that may come up during the fitting process.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor Level degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Design.
• Experience: 0-2 years’ experience
• Affinity to work across genders.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
• Some experience using PLM systems or understanding their concept. Willing to learn.
• Understanding of 3D Design (eg Browzwear/ Clo3D), good level of digital software aptitude and/or willing to learn.
• Strong communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English are a must.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A fast and organized personality to cope with the fast pace of seasons.
• High level of attention to detail needed for branded product.
• Open communicator and able to work with a number of personalities
• Willingness to travel
