Come join our Costa Brazil team. We are on a mission to create products that are beneficial to the body and the spirit-as well as the earth.

We are a clean, luxury concept created by Francisco Costa to capture the rich, natural essence of his native land. Our potent ingredients are responsibly sourced and from the Brazilian rainforests-many of them exclusively for us-and activated using the latest in laboratory technologies. We are proud to partner with international organizations that work to protect our environment through innovative global initiatives. We are new to Amyris and in growth mode.

This person will also be responsible for driving the voice of COSTA BRAZIL in every channel. The role will work in partnership with the VP, Marketing + Content and the Creative Director, to concept, develop and execute a range of work from PDPs to content series and social-first launch campaigns that demonstrate channel best practices while aligning to brand tone of voice and style. The right candidate will have strong experience across social media, ecommerce and video, and be an excellent storyteller, able to truly absorb and respond to a brief and craft a narrative from it.

Responsibilities:

    • Partner with VP, Global Marketing & Content on developing overall voice and execution; implement and influence the COSTA BRAZIL brand tone/voice across all channels and write/oversee engaging copy that inspires and informs across all touch points of the brand.
    • Understand the online beauty community and have the experience to shape the brand's narrative around new launches that seamlessly align with day-to-day content efforts.
    • Manage internal content team as well as a stable of freelance writers and be the last set of eyes on all editorial content before publication.
    • Work hand-in-hand with the brand's creative and social media teams to ensure cohesive, accurate storytelling across platforms.
    • Have extensive experience in the beauty editorial world and be able to provide gut checks on the Costa Brazil line, support marketing efforts with clear recommendations, language, and the ability to quickly top edit all consumer-facing copy using AP Style.
    • As a seasoned editor, this individual will feel equally comfortable assigning and editing a 2,000-word feature on how biotech has impacted skin health; an educational infographic about beauty industry supply chains; and a lighthearted interview with a top Internet personality.
    • Manage editorial production and oversee all content planning, including talent booking, the site's content-based growth efforts (SEO), ensuring all content - from a social media gallery to a reported out explainer - align with the integrity and style COSTA BRAZIL is known for.
    • Develop intimate understanding of the consumer and category trends through competitive analysis, consumer research and ongoing monitoring of activity at retail.
    • Curate up-and-coming talent (celebrities, artists, creatives, dermatologists, makeup artists, chemists, artists, designers, etc.) for paid and organic programming.
    • Infuse your content decisions with your affinity for beauty, art, culture, design, celebrity, music, travel, fashion, luxury, and wellness.
    • Identify trends, threats, and opportunities in content marketing surrounding our industry.
    • Report to the VP, Marketing + Content and maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams and the Creative Studio.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, literature, media, fine art or related.
    • 8-10 years of related work in beauty editorial, social media, advertising or related; experience in creating content for all platforms.
    • Deep understanding of editorial storytelling with multimedia integration as well as the ins and outs of the beauty industry, including regulation, efficacy, leading experts, newsworthy ingredients and innovations, and inclusive language.
    • A natural storyteller with a keen understanding of digital content trends and journalistic standards.

    • Experience managing a team of digital editors and creative team members such as photo and video editors, content creators, and photographers.
    • Experience working in various CMS as well as on social media.
    • A top editing pro with extensive experience in in-house style as well as AP Style.
    • Passion for skincare / wellness beauty industry; professional understanding of clean beauty, biotech, and conservation efforts.
    • Embraces start-up dynamics and thrives wearing many hats while meeting objectives and working collaboratively.
    • Creative self-starter; ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with style, humor and agility.
    • Embrace Costa Brazil ethos and brand pillars.
