As Lead Business Development (m/w/d), you find smart ways to connect relevant stock to our platform. You build and execute an assortment strategy, develop content solutions, set up processes and design commercial schemes. You make a key contribution to Zalando's customer promise to provide Flawless Choice.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • You identify, evaluate, prepare and execute strategic value creation opportunities to drive Flawless Choice. You support the Flawless Choice strategy through the development of commercial schemes, tooling and partner-facing communication to make more relevant assortments available to our customers.
  • You are responsible to define, implement and optimize processes and tools in close collaboration with the Product and Operations functions. You oversee and manage the progress of all your projects in a structured way, present to various stakeholders and solve newly arising problems on-the-go.
  • You work closely and build up relationships with (senior) stakeholders across Connected Retail and the wider company to drive your topic forward in a collaborative manner.
  • You will grow and guide a small team. You shape and champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • University degree in the field of business administration, economics, computer science or engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in a fast-growing tech company, business development, management consulting or other strategic development or entrepreneurial position(s)
  • Good understanding of the e-commerce ecosystem, omni channel business models, and platform development
  • Strategic thinking, working backwards from a disruptive and consumer-centric vision
  • Ability to persuade senior stakeholders through papers, presentations, informal exchanges; track record of applying lateral leadership to make impactful and potentially controversial decisions
  • Top-notch project management, leading to planful and relentless execution
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and a data-driven business mindset
  • Proactive and action-oriented team player, highly organized, self-directed and motivated, with a passion to help junior team members develop
