As a Principal Product Manager for our Beauty & Care Category, you will be part of a team that strives to create an experience that is tailored to the individual beauty & care needs of Zalando’s customers. In your role, you will enable our strategic partners such as sephora to be presented to Zalando in the best possible way. This includes onsite experience as well as leveraging and onboarding partner features to Zalando so that we can provide state of the art experience for each individual customer. Together with your software engineers and design peers you will be responsible for building customer centric, data-driven experiences that will revolutionise the way customers buy beauty & care products online.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Act as owner of your product: set a clear vision, smart roadmap and ambitious targets, and then report against and drive towards those.
  • Identify new product opportunities where we can collaborate with our existing partners with a customer-centric mindset, select the right solutions to focus on by making business savvy decisions and then move fast to successfully execute on your ideas.
  • Identify new ways to collaborate with new strategic partners, create a vision of a new customer journey and drive execution
  • Applying repeatable best practice product methodologies in cross-functional teams incorporating working backwards from the customer, problem discovery, defining & designing solutions, and delivering agreed outcomes.
  • Be a mentor to other colleagues by showcasing deep expertise in your domain and acting as a role model for successful product management.
  • Build strong working relationships across multiple business and tech teams to collaborate and remove unnecessary complexity starting with the customer and working backwards to derive scalable solutions.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Product methods & tools: you have a strong track record of envisioning, developing and building successful consumer-facing products, ideally in an online service marketplace or e-commerce environment. You are able to contribute to and explain a product strategy for your area.
  • Customer mindset: you have the ability to understand customer needs and turn them into remarkable products. You are experienced in conducting insights with user research and product discovery to provide the voice of the customer, creating the right stories that give our users what they need (and not just what they want).
  • Partner mindset: you fully understand ou partners product, how it helps the customers and are able to collaborate with different functions within our partners’ organisations to define, align and launch new features together with them
  • Multiple domains: you have experience in working closely with cross functional teams in Design, Engineering and Data Science.
  • Analytical communicator: your message is crisp, clear and to the point. You involve your relevant stakeholders timely along the product development process. In addition, you bring the analytical skills and rigor to analyze large sets of data, evaluate opportunities and autonomously make well-founded product decisions.
  • Effective networker: you can own and drive topics without much central steering. You build your personal network and identify interdependencies or sources of mutual value to create optimal solutions.
  • Continuous learner: You define your own KPIs in order to measure your impact and the success of the product. You have the passion and drive to keep up with product innovations, whilst refining your toolset and at the same time mentoring your colleagues.
  • Beauty & Care Industry knowledge: Past experience in the field of product management in the Beauty & Care industry or an affinity for the beauty & care domain and understanding of the industry is a plus.
