SMCP USA Inc. (Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot & De Fursac) is seeking an entrepreneurial, solution-minded Associate Buyer to support our Buying Department.

The major function is to own our Sandro Men's business, to build Brand Desirability and drive sales in the North America Business Unit. This position will be an integral part of the department and must be able to build strong relationships with cross-functional, global and partner teams to support key merchandising strategies. This role will report directly to the Senior Buyer.

What you'll do:

SEASONAL PLANNING & BUYING
  • Build Seasonal & Core Assortment through Category & SKU plans, aligned with OTB & Capacity targets
  • Determine Product needs for each region, channel and wholesale partner for Assortment Localization
  • Manage in-season replenishment and stock adjustment based on Business need
  • Manage Promotion & Markdown Entries in accordance with Commercial Calendar

REPORTING & ANALYSIS
  • Prepare Seasonal Hindsight Analyses and Assortment Investment Reviews to impact upcoming Collection Development with Global Merchandising Teams
  • Partner with Planning team to align on sizing and door group strategies by category and channel
  • Analyze Business on a weekly basis & prepare Monthly & Seasonal Business Reviews and draw actionable strategies

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL & EXTERNAL TEAM COLLABORATION
  • Communicate on key business drivers & any opportunities with Global teams to champion market needs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (PR, Marketing, VM, Ecomm, Allocation) on key 360 communication initiatives
  • Work closely with planning/allocation to understand product allocation, sizing and receipt flow
  • Gather Collection feedback from Retail teams by visiting stores on a regular basis
  • Create Product Line sheets, Product Knowledge documents based on assortment as needed for external partners & cross-functional teams

MARKET AWARENESS & SPECIAL PROJECTS
  • Remain informed of fashion/trends and apply knowledge to assortment and promotional plans
  • Demonstrate and communicate awareness of retail landscape; Conduct research on competitive set including pricing, assortment and trends
  • Assist in coordination of product training for store employees in order to maximize awareness of the season's collection and trends

Who you are:
  • College degree; Merchandising degree, a plus
  • French speaking is a plus
  • 2-3 years of related experience in Merchandising/Buying/Retail
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) & ability to learn new systems
  • To be a positive, flexible, team player- to work independently as needed and to have strong self-initiative, resourcefulness, prioritization and time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal & written communication and follow-through skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects with adherence to deadlines & highly organized
  • Must be able to work independently as well as on group projects
  • Position based in our NYC office; Hybrid remote work schedule; US work visa required.
