This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced leather goods developer to join a fast-growing designer fashion brand to join our team and translate design ideas into products.


-+/- 6-7 tbc months which will very likely be extended into a permanent position

-Start date beginning of February 2022.


- Spanish & English - full proficiency

- Italian a plus

- Minimum 2/3 years of experience in a similar role

- Experience with Zedonk is a plus

- Proficient in Excel

- Basic skills in illustrator

- Living in London or willing to relocate

- Must have visa or work permit to live in the UK

- Willing & able to travel within Europe



  • Manages the handover of clean specs to manufacturing partners on behalf of design; communicates daily with manufacturers and direct suppliers on questions and changes to specs, standards; assists in interpreting design needs. This also includes traveling to our manufacturers in Spain and Italy in order to work with them on the ground.
  • Participate in Design meetings and guard project workflows in order to assure sampling and ensure proper development at all stages while meeting cost, quality and brand objectives
  • Launches, monitors, tracks, and reports on all requested prototypes for design meetings, lookbook-shoots, showrooms and press samples.


  • Prepares all initial costings analysis within across each style on current and new styles including exact consumptions per material per style.
  • Requests pre-costings from the factory and supports the team to develop strategies to meet/exceed margin requirement while maintaining design aesthetic.


  • Helps design to source options for leather, hardware, components and techniques while building a tight, strategic vendor base.
  • Helps to issue relevant lab dips and purchase orders.
  • Maintains the Leather & Hardware library, archiving approved lab dips and maintaining seasonal material/trim approvals.
  • Tests questionable materials and treatments in development cycle for performance and compliance to prevent a lapse in production.
  • Ensures­­­­­­­ all sampling materials are ordered and delivered on time to factories for prototyping and showroom sampling. 


  • Manages with the support of design the technical development of assigned styles from design concept through to production-ready hand-off, ensuring technical engineering meets expectations
  • Reviews with the design team if all prototypes and market samples to ensure accuracy in execution to spec. and Design’s production comments.
  • Helps gathering technical and pricing details for all raw materials in preparation for production 
  • Ensure all details are accurate in Zedonk and updated including BOM’s, raw material technical details, material consumptions and prices.
  • Checks the launch of production specs prepared by the production assistant.

Critical path:

  • Manages the timelines in collaboration with Design on the Seasonal Calendar deadlines and work closely on the critical path per season to ensure each deadline is met.
  • Monitors calendar daily to promote flow of development; apprises and resolves calendar variances with team.
