Operations Manager - Fulfillment Center / Warehouse

About the Role

In this role you will help develop and oversee one or more primary warehouse functions (outbound, inbound, inventory control or etc.) while acting as a critical leader for 4 area managers, and up to 40 team members. The right candidate for this role must thrive on problem solving and demonstrate success at innovating processes to improve speed and accuracy. You will need to be passionate about coaching, inspiring, and mentoring team members to become future leaders. Our leaders see no limits, have no excuses, and never give up.

Responsibilities

• Play a key position in managing a new facility and being a part of the initial team
• Develop and mentor 1-4 area managers and 20 to 50 team members for performance and career progression.
• Inspire a positive and goal focused work environmentLead and maintain safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe workspace.
• Ensure daily productivity, volume and accuracy goals are met.
• Create and implement new operational processes to improve productivity and accuracy.
• Develop expertise in warehouse management system and collaborate with product team to create new tools.
• Enforce code of conduct, attendance and performance policy.
• Build, deliver and execute daily department labor plans based on forecast.
• Work with other operations managers to balance labor across the building.
• Interview and hire new team members.
• Administer employee time and PTO requests.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move material up to 49 pounds each
• Bend and lift at waist and above head
• Walk or stand for 10-12 hours a day
• Safely ascend and descend ladder

Other Requirements

• 5-7 years in a warehouse or production environment
• 2-3 years in a warehouse management position
• Unfailingly optimistic and able to convey up beat point of view to all team members
• Comfortable with providing frequent feedback to area managers and team members
• Proficient at ExcelDedication to team and obsession with customer experience
• Availability to work overtime during peak seasons and other times during the year as needed
• Able to work any shift (nights, weekends and etc.)
• Experience leading front line supervisors, area managers, and teams of 20+ people
• Experience successfully developing and implementing new processes from beginning to end
• Experience working with product managers to define requirements for new technical tools
• Success at promoting team members and area managers into more senior leadership positions
• Desire to work in constantly changing and frequently ambiguous environment
• Thrives on juggling conflicting priorities
