About the team

As part of the Men's Design Team, you will be involved in designing & developing specific product groups within the Global Menswear Assortment in close collaboration with the Product Team and the Design Manager.

We currently have an open vacancy as Mens Outerwear Designer, where we are searching for a talent who has relevant experience and understanding across all outerwear product types including, down and padded styles, parkas, windbreakers, technical jackets, Wool, Leather and Shearling. The Outerwear Designer needs to have a good understanding and passion for Trends, Silhouettes and Fabrications and how these can be interpreted into the GANT brand direction and the Future of American Sportswear.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute the category range, according to creative and business direction and the GANT DNA
• Strong understanding of Outerwear product is essential, with a clear understanding for details and attention to the functionality of the product
• High level fabric knowledge of Outerwear qualities, plus a strong technical understanding of outerwear fits and constructions
• Experience of close connection with Fabric Suppliers and Material Sourcing
• Close collaboration with Trim Designer to develop and source seasonal trims and details for the Outerwear category
• Preparing and updating Tech Packs and Seasonal Collection Overviews
• Uploading and updating articles in PLM
• Preparing Seasonal Sourcing Documents
• Selection of material and trims related to direction
• Researching trends and commercial newness within the Outerwear Category
• Understanding the relevance of all collection layers, define the purpose of each product
• Secure product excellence throughout the full design process
• Work according to the Critical Path and being organized to meet Deadlines

Your skills

• Clear understanding and knowledge within Designing Preppy American Sportswear
• Great eye for Branding, Details, Graphics and Colors
• Minimum of 4 years experience in a fashion environment, with relevant Outerwear Design experience
• Bachelor degree in Fashion Design
• Strong use of Adobe Suite (Ai, Ps, In)
• Understanding of PowerPoint and Excel
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Good knowledge of silhouette, materials and details
• Strong creativity, trend and commercial awareness
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work in a high paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, fluency in English is a must
