Job Overview:

The HR Reporting & Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the systems and reporting needs for the Bloomingdale's HR organization. In their capacity, they will develop end-to-end process flows, dashboards and reports.

This individual will report to the manager of BI Reporting and Systems Development and will be responsible for developing tools & reports that support:
  • Commission & incentive payouts
  • Employee annual reviews
  • Employee Turn-over, recruitment and compensation statistics

Essential Functions:
  • Translate business needs to technical specification
    • Must be comfortable collaborating with non-technical business users
  • Review, design & implement reporting tools and applications
    • Identify system deficiencies or opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes
    • Take ownership of reported issues and see problems through to resolution
  • Participate in the software development life cycle:
    • Review, summarize and communicate changes to existing business practices that are due to new system enhancements or roll-outs
    • Act as technical subject matter expert during cross-functional meetings
    • Participate in user acceptance testing sessions

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel
  • Experience in SQL or desire to learn
  • Have programming background in Visual Basic (or similar)
  • Self-motivated, excellent organization and communication skills, attention to detail (HR reporting will go to HR leadership), and demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn.
  • Work both collaboratively as a team member and independently on select projects
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; must be advanced in Excel
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Background in human resources (preferred)
