Our Portugal offices are located in four of the country's most vibrant cities - Braga, GuimarĂ£es, Lisbon and Porto, known for their rich historical background and warm atmosphere. The Consumer Payments team is looking for someone to manage Commercial Operations. You will manage our financial control and budget processes, and help manage a P&L which totals tens of millions of dollars. You will also support the commercial relationships we have with our providers. Reporting to the Senior Head of Payments, you'll work with over 20 partners globally to power our customers' payments needs across our different departments and geographies. You'll ensure we scale and improve our commercial conditions while finding revenue opportunities through the platform and services we provide.


    • Line management responsibility for a team of Payments Partners and Commercial Analysts.
    • Oversee Payments & Fraud annual budget construction & validation process, ensure budgetary targets are met.
    • Ensure all P&L impacts and drivers are identified and measured ongoing. Identify risk factors, efficiencies and opportunities and ensure such are measured and validated.
    • Develop financial control procedures covering all relevant Payments & Fraud activities. Such as payment processing fees, chargebacks, software costs and reconciliation.
    • Support the build and implementation to BAU of a quality assurance framework around financial controls.
    • Work with Payments & Fraud Analytics, Operations Strategy and Finance teams to ensure integrated, professionalised cost and financial control processes are in place.
    • Be the reference within the team and company, on commercial topics relating to payments and fraud; provide expertise and leadership.
    • Support Management with the development of a strategy for managing and scaling our commercial conditions with our 20+ payment service providers. Evaluate and negotiate with both prospective and existing providers.
    • Work with teams like Legal, Finance Ops, IT Security and Treasury to bring new projects, and to create efficient workflows for money coming into our business.
    • Support management with relationships with our partners and within the industry to ensure we're well positioned to handle the opportunities and threats that change may bring to our cost base.


    • Experienced (6+ years) in commercial management, finance, consumer payments, or another relevant discipline.
    • High degree of financial experience, able to evidence ability to manage complex budgetary and financial cost control processes.
    • You succeed when given a challenge that includes self-led discovery and the autonomy to create your own solutions.
    • You feel comfortable working with large volumes of data, and make decisions informed by data.
    • You enjoy making complex things seem simple and building better ways of working.
    • You enjoy working with different kinds of people and different teams.
