ABOUT THE TEAM
As Europe's leading online platform for fashion and lifestyle, we bring head-to-toe fashion to about 45 million active customers in 23 markets. The Client Engineering team combines product innovation and software engineering to empower hundreds of Zalando engineers to deliver digital experiences (web and mobile). We create customer applications, software platforms, and tooling that enhances the developer experience. We provide platforms for user tracking, web rendering, media delivery, privacy, data delivery, and localisation.

As the new Senior Product Manager for localisation, you will be responsible for building a strong vision and strategy for our localisation platform, as well as the orchestration and execution of different localisation and translation initiatives You will become a thought leader and trusted expert for localisation related topics within Zalando and be the counterpart for our external platform vendor.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Creation of a strong product vision and strategy
  • Understanding requirements and strategic needs from different stakeholders and translating those into change or feature requests for the vendor or your internal delivery team
  • Engaging with the Business Units as well as the Marketing and Editorial Teams to make data driven recommendations (e.g. during their project exploration and solution design phase)
  • Orchestration and execution of Localisation projects and needs across the organisation
  • Managing cost and contractual optimizations
  • Partner with vendor of external platform to understand future capabilities and communicate needs of Zalando
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • An experienced product manager, ideally with some insights into creating platform products for internal customers.
  • An agile (transparent, participation, iteration, collaborative) mindset with high customer focus and excellent people skills
  • Talented writer of technical concepts, product roadmaps, and project briefs.
  • Systematic approach towards problem solving (Don't fix symptoms, fix root causes!)
  • You understand how to move your initiatives from ideation through go-live, delivery, and handover, looking for ways to simplify future efforts to make them more "business-as-usual."
  • A highly motivated team player, you can manage conflicts and priorities among teams and stakeholders. You take ownership of your tasks, and work in an independent and structured manner.
  • Ideally, the candidate was involved or led localisation / translation project
