Job Overview:
The role of the Trade Area Alterations Manager (TAAM) is as an Alterations subject matter expert who leads a multi-store operation. The TAAM will help the customer look and feel great about their purchase by guiding them to envision the impact of the perfect fit, playing a critical role themselves or through their team in closing a sale. The TAAM will supervise a team of professional alterations experts in two or more stores, functioning as a player coach, leading by example. The TAAM is responsible for managing the overall alterations business in each assigned store, ensuring a high level of service and a profitable work room.

The TAAM is responsible for managing the overall alterations business in each assigned store, ensuring a high level of service and a profitable work room.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and develop the Alterations teams in each assigned store
- Coach team behaviors and execute performance reviews and corrective actions
- Leverage individual associate skill strengths to deliver the best quality in the shortest time
- Monitor work levels in individual work rooms and move product appropriately to maximize the teams
- Educate team and sellers on key aspects of alterations service
- Advise sellers, the alterations team, and customers about how to make a garment fit perfectly
- Understand and coach on parameters of alterations of a garment based on fabrication, structure, and sizing
- Ensure the highest quality of product to drive the experience and sales
- Experienced with elevated apparel and complex alterations, utilizing equipment and hand sewing
- Serve as subject matter expert on the complete alterations process, from the fitting experience to the measure to the garment completion
- Achieve alterations revenue, expense, productivity, and profit plans
- Achieve prescribed promise dates, be flexible and accommodate all customer requests for expedited delivery
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work room, following safe usage protocol for all equipment
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in correct operating order, urgently addressing repair needs
- Remain tuned in to total store initiatives, promotions, and events and plan workroom logistics accordingly
- Weekly communication at minimum with teams in stores out of home base
- Travel to local stores once per month and remote stores once per quarter
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
3-5 years related experience
Competencies:
- Ability to operate alterations equipment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong sense of urgency
- Proven ability to build cross functional relationships across stores and the organization
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality required
- Able to work independently and manage a team remotely
- Ability to travel to assigned stores as required
Physical Requirements:
- Requires periods of walking, standing, hearing, talking , reaching with extended arms, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Frequent use of computers and other office equipment
- Requires close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
