Wandler has a job opportunity available for a talented and ambitious Art Director

In this role you will set the overall visual aspect of the Wandler brand and design Wandler’s visual aesthetic from concept to finished execution across all touch-points, for all global physical regions and digital and social channels. You will work closely with the founder and creative director of our business – Elza Wandler, and the marketing director to form a strong foundation for the brand.

You will be in charge of directing photoshoots, coordinating brand marketing campaigns, creating detailed design plans, and evaluating the latest fashion trends. In addition to having a talent for fashion, the ideal candidate will be highly creative with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will bring a modern and energizing approach, and be consumed about how to create relevance and engaging brand assets to our customers, community and consumers.

The candidate will bring fresh energy, and a proactive attitude, ready to work across all levels within the team.

You ooze fashion forward modernity and will bring an aspirational direction to our brand identity – images, moving assets, video content and typography.

The Responsibilities:

  • You will be the owner and guardian of the visual output for Wandler. Developing, innovating the Wandler brand and style guidelines; ensuring brand identity and brand frameworks are upheld across all touch-points.
  • Working closely with Creative Director to elevate the quality + creativity of all asset creation.
  • Working closely with Marketing director to create 360 campaigns on all levels and assets to stimulate sales and visibility world-wide.
  • Researching and creating ideas for new marketing/commercial campaigns (photoshoots).
  • Art directing photoshoots, campaigns, windows concepts, showrooms concepts (interior), events and other productions.
  • Overseeing and managing production of all output. 
  • Maintaining and ensuring a high level of finish for all asset creation.
  • Drive the conception, creation (graphic design skills) and design of all digital assets (homepages, emails, editorial, digital ads/banners, videos, interactive animations, newsletters, look books).
  • Drive the conception, creation and design of all offline assets (Poster campaigns, showrooms, windows, events such as FW).
  • Respond to internal and external briefs, filtering down to the creative team and leading the development of innovative and compelling creative concept.
  • Commissioning and source talent such as illustrators, animators, stylists, photographers, etc. to create content.
  • Lead and direct closely the team in execution all aspects of video and still photoshoots, including concept making, storyboarding / shot planning, casting, styling, directing photographers, on-set logistics, in-house production team etc.
  • Set the tone and oversee post-production, including shot selects, touch-up, sound and editing, supplemented by external freelancers and editors (demanding best-in-class excellence for outsourced work).
  • Design templates for graphic design, fonts, colour guidelines and photo editing
  • Optimize the entire visual asset development process: identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in shooting, filming, content capture processes and tools

The Person:

  • You combine creativity, graphic design, technical production skills, and a collaborative attitude
  • Skilled in omni-channel creative, understanding how to tailor graphic design concepts across channels, and be able to execute them.
  • High level of accountability and motivation
  • Great at communications across all levels, and create a strong relationship with Founder
  • Skilled at multidimensional thinking - including still, video, and physical executions
  • You are hard-working, with positive energy, entrepreneurial, a team player and fun to hang out with

What you’ll need:

  • Aspirational and modern, socially-informed visual experience and instinct
  • Adaptable and comfortable with a fast-paced, ever-changing creative environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Hands-on photography skills
  • Professional knowledge of graphic design, being able to execute ideas
  • Expert with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator)
  • Premiere Rush or Premiere Pro
  • Sketch or any other website design program
  • Knowledge of Klaviyo is a pre
  • Knowledge of Shopify is a pre
  • Ability to create and innovate on any type or size of project
  • Strong interest in Fashion and everything related, such as Architecture, Art, Design, Film.
