OVERVIEW:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

As a Video Editor you will bring a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of video content creation to the Campaign and Creative team at Gymshark. Your key responsibilities will involve editing cutting-edge video content for a multitude of social media and marketing platforms, developing concepts and ideas in collaboration with other creatives within the business, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible for Gymshark within video content. You will work collaboratively with other video editors to contribute to one another's success, sharing ideas and executions to become a powerful and reliable Video Editing team. You are a natural 'doer' whilst also being able to work with and articulate yourself clearly to multiple stakeholders across several teams. The successful candidate will live and breathe video content, with a proven track record in various styles and formats of video editing to a high standard. It is essential that this person has previous professional experience working in media/video, be highly capable in editing video/audio, and should be highly adaptable to work in the fast-paced world of Gymshark.

Video Editing:

  • You will be editing video content for various social media platforms and marketing channels in line with a brief.
  • Developing ideas and concepts specific to video editing to be implemented into campaign development and execution.
  • Owning the post-production process for your projects, working closely with the project manager to hit deadlines for key milestones e.g. rough cut, amends, delivery etc.
  • Carrying out colour grading that is fit for purpose and adds finesse to Gymshark video content.
  • Carrying out audio editing such as clean ups, soundtrack editing, voice over etc.
  • You will source and licence music/audio to be used for various platforms and media spends, ensuring it is in line with the β€˜Gymshark sound' and represents the brand correctly.
  • Creating and implementing visual effects of 2D and 3D nature into video projects. On a basic level this will involve 2D aftereffects based graphics, such as lower thirds, infographic style video content, basic animation. In an advanced sense this may include 3D work such as integration of multiple scenes through chromakey, entirely 3D elements integrated into scenes etc.
  • You will work closely with the senior members of the team through regular meetings and discussions to ensure alignment across the wider video team.
  • You will be responsible for archiving files in a professional and logical way, in line with a pre-established format.

Collaboration:

  • You will often be collaborating with the creative team to ensure creative strategies and execution plans are effective in your area of expertise, offering your specialist knowledge to further advance ideas/concepts in the pre-production stages.
  • You will collaborate with the creative team to ensure video editing execution is in line with the initial concept execution plans.
  • You will partner with senior and managing members of the Campaign and Creative team from areas such as Artwork, Retouch and Production to ensure assets are consistent in style and presentation across all touch points. This will involve precision colour grading to match art direction strategy plans and keeping assets consistent visually across multiple touch points and platforms.
  • You will work closely with several members of the marketing team to best understand executions for multiple platforms, what performs well, what our limitations are with certain media types and where we can improve.

Analytics:

  • You will be working on problems which require a fierce understanding of our consumer and lateral thinking to solve. Problems will tend to be specific to a set channel or execution touchpoint so therefore require a specialist understanding of that execution channel.
  • You will use data and analytics of previous video editing execution to shape future work, continually testing new styles and inspiration to fine tune performance of all video assets.

Knowledge & Opportunity:

  • Maintain a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and all execution channels such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, IGTV, Facebook etc.
  • You will participate in relevant projects, leading and championing as appropriate Gymshark's reputation as a world class organisation and employer of choice.
  • You should be an expert on all social media platforms; their trends, effective executions, their limitations, and use this knowledge to further Gymshark content in the appropriate way.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Proven track record in video editing that is effective and fit for purpose.
  • Expert knowledge in Adobe Creative Cloud suite, especially Premiere Pro, Audition, After effects is essential.
  • Good knowledge and experience in more advanced software's such as Black Magic Davinci Resolve, Cinema 4D, etc. is preferred.
  • Methodical approach to archiving video files.
  • Ability to follow creative direction whilst also thinking outside the box.
  • Preferred to have awareness of the Gymshark Brand.
  • A good understanding of brand and corporate guidelines is essential.
  • A good understanding of media law, copyright, usage rights etc. is preferred.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to get the most out of each brief.
  • Combine a creative, innovative approach with commercial ideas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - being able to quickly establish effective relationships at all levels (internal & external) with gravitas and strength.
  • Able to get ideas across effectively to gain relevant buy-in and support.

When normal office working resumes, our expectation would require candidates to attend at least 2 days a week in GSHQ, Solihull, UK.
