Engagement and Internal Communications Coordinator (Remote, APAC)

Employer
Shopify
Location
Australia
Closing date
19 Jan 2022

Job Details

The Business Management function sits in the centre of the APAC organization, with a mission to create clarity and connectivity for teams across APAC and also into our global partners. Shopify works Digital by Design (DxD) so our teams of Shopifolk are all remote, coming together at regular intervals to build relationships and our team culture. Our day to day work is done leveraging technology to stay connected, informed and effective.

The Engagement and Internal Communications Coordinator is a new role in the Business Management team. As we continue to embed our DxD working style, there is a greater need than ever to drive clarity and connectivity, and to better tell our stories internally. Working in a fast paced environment, this role will be central in supporting and being the DxD glue for APAC, creating content and executing on internal communications plans, and driving events and other cultural activities to bring the team physically or virtually together.

Our preference is for this role to be based out of Australia or Singapore. However for the right candidate we will also consider those candidates based in New Zealand, Japan, China or India.

Responsibilities

Reporting into the Head of Business Management, the Engagement and Internal Communications lead will be responsible for creating content and executing on internal communications plans. This could include regular story-telling in written, visual or video form, through to creating content for roadshows or other channels and formats. The role is also key in supporting and continuing to cultivate our APAC culture through regular virtual and in-person events such as QBR's, All Hands and "Bursts" - in-person meetings where teams come together in one location.

Qualifications

  • Powerful communication skills and the ability to simplify, elevate and story tell in an engaging way
  • At least 2 years experience in creative content creation - for internal or external audiences. It could be Google, Canva, iMovie but you've got a range of tools in your belt to tell the right story in the right way at the right time. Supporting with content for QBR, All Hands, Kick-Off meetings, Bursts, Onboarding sessions and more will be part of your remit
  • Super Power in Organisation - you'll be pulling together internal events or supporting with tools for the team to execute on their own, so you'll have multiple priorities with tight deadlines
  • Willingness, interest or experience in pulling together regional events including logistics and best practice processes to create efficient and smooth events at scale
  • Effective Relationship Builder - you'll quickly find out who you need to know in our global teams to ensure our stories and messages hit the right people and places
  • A self starter who keeps up to date on the types of technology that will make your content shine
  • A natural people person, you'll be able to bring our team together with cultural empathy and a sense of fun. You'll have curiosity and passion for cultivating the Revenue APAC team culture. You'll partner closely with the culture team in finding ways to embed the APAC culture. This could be virtual karaoke sessions, lip synch battles, or cultural appreciation sessions for different regional holidays, but you'll find a way to keep the APAC culture a big part of our special sauce
  • Passion for rolling up your sleeves and being resourceful to get shit done
