Zalando's Product Data Quality team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to help our customers discover a delightful and relevant assortment based on high quality product content.

The Product Data Quality team will enable customers to explore our products based on the most category-relevant product data. The team understands what product information is relevant for our customers and enables internal and external content providers to onboard this information. This way, the team will ensure that product data is relevant, complete and correct across platforms and premises.

As a Principal Product Manager in the Data Quality team, you will drive the strategy for our product data capabilities, as well as contribute to strategic projects across Zalando. Collaborating with other product managers, engineers, applied scientists, designers, analysts and a large network of stakeholders, you will solve complex problems at scale, such as understanding the relevance of product information from a customer and business perspective, detecting and correcting incorrect product data, or redefining Zalando's product platform strategy, to create substantial customer and business impact.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Translate Zalando's and the team's purpose and strategy into a tactical roadmap to provide high quality product data that is shared with content suppliers and internal teams to ensure our customers can discover a relevant product selection.
  • Understand deeply how customers explore and buy fashion, what information they need, what emotions they feel, to make it fun and easy for them to discover products and make lasting purchases.
  • Discover new opportunities for our product data capabilities with a customer-centric mindset. Assess their impact, consider them in the context of the Zalando Group Strategy, prioritize them and deliver great results in order to help Zalando become the starting point for fashion.
  • Help us master our product culture across Zalando by facilitating product processes that create remarkable impact for our customers at scale
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and teams throughout the product value chain, (including buying, article onboarding, in-house production of product images and descriptions, Product Data and Experience department) to help deliver customer-facing experiences on our apps and websites.
  • Work hands-on with multiple Engineering teams and create clarity on what to do next.
  • Identify and align competing priorities and manage a portfolio of cross-company and team level initiatives, from early-stage idea exchanges to hands-on delivery in close collaboration with Engineers, Applied Scientists and Designers.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in e-Commerce. You have a strong track record of envisioning, developing and building successful products, shipping customer- and business impact at scale. You have the experience and desire to work on complex data and infrastructure products with many platform teams and services.
  • You have collaborated with and strategically involved large stakeholder groups, multiple engineering/applied science and analytics teams and provided product direction from discovery to delivery. Hands-on experience in building products for large user bases in large organisations is a plus
  • You own and drive topics without much central steering
  • You have a strong customer focus and always keep their perspective in mind. You are diligent, detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize requests and deliverables according to the company's overall strategy and goals. You own a product roadmap and you have experience in driving products at different stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • You have broken down complex problems by applying easy to understand frameworks. You have experience in analysing data and deriving insights from it.
