JOB PURPOSE

The IT Change Manager has responsibility for all IT change management activities to ensure that the business is adequately prepared for the changes and managing the successful adoption of the changes. The IT Change manager will play a key role in ensuring projects meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of the IT Change manager will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimise resistance. The change manager will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilisation of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees. These improvements will increase benefit realisation, value creation, ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.

The IT Change Manager will:
  • Own Change Management and Service Transition processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in those processes based on lessons learned, for example from major incidents caused by change
  • Manage weekly Change Advisory Board for all major and significant changes
  • Work with the community of transition resources across IT to ensure they are working to consistent, high standards, appropriate to the risk profile of the projects they are engaged on
  • Manages day to day Change activities, ensuring the Change process operates effectively and efficiently with all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Ensures and promotes the correct use of the Change Management process to comply with Burberry policies and standards
  • Acts as Product Owner for Change Management within the ITSM toolset (Remedyforce)
  • Publishes Change Management Key Performance Indicators and ensures these are met
  • Contributes to development of project lifecycle to ensure change and transition activities are reflected appropriately

Contribute to Change Community: Be part of the Burberry Change Community, use and contribute to existing methodology, provide examples and lessons learned to your peers

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • IT Change Management experience essential, with experience in delivering Change Management on global IT initiatives.
  • ITIL experience highly desired, with knowledge of IT change management principles, methodologies and tools
  • Service Transition experience desired
  • Ability to work and influence Senior Management and build strong relationships
  • Ideally from a Technical Background
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and work effectively with others at all levels across the business


CONNECT WITH:

While the IT Change manager may have line management responsibility, this person will have to work with many others in the organisation to succeed. The change manager will act as a coach for senior leaders and executives in helping them fulfil the role of change sponsor. The change manager may also provide direct support and coaching to all levels of managers as they help their direct reports through transitions. The change manager will also support project teams in integrating IT Change management activities into their project plans.
