Shopify's Early Talent teams attract, hire, and develop a diverse community of emerging talent by designing and delivering innovative work integrated learning programs to accelerate participants' long-term career impact.

As the Program Operations Lead, you'll be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of Shopify's Early Talent programs. This will include creating systems for intern allocation planning, program evaluation and reporting. You'll identify opportunities to streamline operations through tools, systems, and processes. You'll inform build vs. buy decisions for tooling and partner with other internally-focused infrastructure and technology teams such as IT, Talent and Learning Technology, and Culture Tools. As a member of the Leadership Team, you'll have a voice in setting strategic direction towards alignment, and prioritizing participant experience.

You'll work with the functional leads and owners forMarketing, Recruiting, Student Success, Teaching and Learning, and Mentorships. You'll work closely with the Senior Specialist, Early Talent Team Operations to own cross-functional, cross-program projects that will have a big impact on program operations and participant experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and prioritize the operational needs of our Early Talent programs.
  • Build a roadmap that reflects the aims and priorities of the Early Talent programs and a plan to develop the operational tools and processes to support alignment.
  • Assemble the resources needed to deliver on your roadmap, leveraging existing resources and relationships to get the work done, and building successful business cases for further investment as needed.
  • Design, build and maintain operational systems that make it easy for our program teams to focus on participant experience, not day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Execute ongoing program evaluation, including data collection and reporting.
  • Own intern allocation planning for Early Talent, partnering with the Office of the CTO, RnD Leadership, and TA to determine the appropriate number of open internship positions for each cycle and distributing those open positions across the organization equitably.
  • Establish Early Talent Program Operations as an important contributor to Shopify's ecosystem of operational tools and processes.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships with audiences and stakeholders at multiple levels in a company setting.
  • A keen eye for what needs to get done operationally and a desire to get it done efficiently.
  • The ability to thrive in an environment where experimentation is encouraged and you are confident in creating, executing and championing those experiments.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • A self-starter who takes initiative and is excited to problem-solve.
  • Proven ability to thrive on change.
