Accountant

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ACCOUNTANT TO SUPPORT OUR GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTING OPERATION FOR NORTH AMERICA.

You will play an important role by assisting and execution of monthly close, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting. The role will be based in our office in New York reporting to our Finance and Operations Director.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES AHEAD OF YOU

The responsibilities will include:

• Oversee and analyze entries to ensure appropriate booking and classification
• Prepare/review journals
• Monitor account reconciliations and calculations inclusive of cost accounting
• Monthly marketplace, consignment and concessions reconciliations
• Responsible for all prepay and accrual processes
• Depreciation and fixed asset control
• Accounting point of contact for all retail stores reconciling cash deposits, float, credit card and expenses
• Inventory reconciliation
• Assist our in-house AR responsible with various reconciliations and booking of incoming payments and bank reconciliations
• Support external and internal audit requirements
• Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participate in projects, system enhancements and optimization or ad hoc analyses as assigned

 

TO HACK THE SYSTEM, YOU MUST ...

You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or 1-2 years work experience of combined month-end close; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You have great knowledge of accounting basics and how transactions flow through the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. You are meticulous and have an attention to detail, highly organized and good at record-keeping.

It is preferable, that you have Audit experience and knowledge of Navision Microsoft Dynamic and Microsoft including pivot tables and v-lookups.

Attention to detail is important and you are good at delivering uncompromising quality while thriving in a dynamic and busy environment. You have a strong drive, are passionate about your job, are fun and easy to cooperate with while you are open to challenges.

We offer daily subsidized lunches and are proud of our close-knit team and positive NY office culture! We are currently working on a hybrid WFH schedule and are in the office at least 3-4 days a week.
