ABOUT THE JOB


Join us in our mission to invite fashion savvy customers onto a daily new, vibrant treasure hunt! We look for someone who wants to think outside the box to overhaul our activation and checkout experience at Lounge.

As Zalando’s second biggest customer facing destination, Lounge is a key driver of Zalando’s mission to be Europe’s starting point for fashion. Every morning at 7 am, we’re opening doors to highly attractive, yet limited deals from brands customers love. To help our 4+ million customers notch up those special fashion pieces they don’t want to miss out on, we need your help! We’re looking for a Head of Product who wants to turn our very first and last steps of our funnel into true AHA moments for our customers that build up loyalty and long-lasting relationships. As product lead, you will be working closely with two cross-functional teams and coach and mentor product colleagues to help them set and execute against a compelling strategic direction and roadmap for their areas.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Serving over 4m customers, Zalando Lounge is the second largest customer facing application and sub-brand of the Zalando group. Our Lounge Customer Facing Team (CFA) is responsible for the complete digital experience of Zalando Lounge and consists of experts from product, design, analytics and engineering. We work closely with experts from our various business functions (i.e. marketing, supply, markets) to generate measurable business impact by continuously elevating our Lounge customer experience and setting it apart from what can be found in the market.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Lead and mentor 2 cross-functional product teams, putting collaboration at the core of how your teams work, thus, enabling and empowering them
  • Use a highly-analytical and customer-centric mindset to define a compelling long-term vision for your product area, which sets new standards in the shopping club industry and fosters deep customer relationships
  • Together with your teams, work backwards from this vision by breaking it down into an actionable product strategy and roadmaps that your team can successfully deliver against
  • Being relentless in the pursuit to grow our business by making the lives of your customers better. Identifying and executing innovative solutions for our customers which deliver high business impact.
  • Define and monitor clear KPIs in order to measure your impact and the success of your product and teams over time
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams spanning many departments (e.g.category management, research, marketing, corporate sustainability) to bring our vision and initiatives to life
  • Collaborate with CFA leads (i.e. Heads of PM, Design, Engineering) in further shaping and maturing the product community and best practices at Zalando Lounge


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • An experienced (10+ years), highly collaborative product manager who has a track record in generating business impact by shipping customer facing products at scale.
  • High competency in driving the full product lifecycle (from discovery to delivery) together with experts from design, engineering and analytics across a large-scale organization. You have repeatedly demonstrated that you can lead a cross functional team through influence, not hierarchy, and uniting peers and stakeholders behind your product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • You excel at product discovery. You perfectly balance a high degree of analytical rigour, business sense and empathy to break down complex business problems. You can easily collect and interpret data to understand customer behavior and are familiar with various methods that help you make sense of the behavior observed. Your long-year experience makes it easy for you to assess and manage different types of risk - you know when to move fast and when to invest in de-risking your solution up front.
  • You are an incredible communicator, in written and verbal speech. You know the right level of detail needed to successfully communicate with a wide range of audiences (up to the highest executive level).
  • You have demonstrated that you are capable of developing more junior colleagues into high-performing product managers
  • You have beliefs and principles informed by both success and failure. You know that the success of whatever you are working on relies on the energy and attitude you bring to it and have the stamina to sustain that energy over many months and unexpected challenges.
