As a Senior Manager Strategy & Planning (m/w/d) in the Connected Retail team you will play a key role in defining the strategy for a fast growing business unit within Zalando. You will be part of the team that is responsible for shaping the strategic vision together with the decision makers, defining a strategic planning process, formulating strategic initiatives and aligning different parts of the organization to reach the common goals. Together with your team you will own the structures and systems required to implement the strategy and you will add competitive analysis and insights to the strategic thought process. The ideal candidate is not only very strong in strategic and conceptual work as well as analytical thinking, but also stands out for stakeholder management and project management skills as well as excellent communication.
WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED
  • Co-development of the Connected Retail Strategy and Operational Plan with key stakeholders; review and provide frameworks to ensure high quality discussions
  • Develop an end-to-end understanding of the business unit and overall company by building relationships across the organization
  • Identify and drive the development of strategic opportunities while tracking and evaluating market trends, developments and business opportunities
  • Build an understanding of the market conditions and customer expectations, as well as the competitive environment in which Connected Retail operates, draw insights from facts and communicate findings to senior stakeholders
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Degree in Business, Economics (or equivalent) as well as 5+ years solid work experience in a fast-growing tech company, business development, management consulting or other strategic development or entrepreneurial positions
  • Track-record of developing easy to understand and highly impactful strategies to solve critical business problems
  • Proven high-quality problem solving and outstanding analytical skills in a previous role; already demonstrated good capabilities in managing diverse groups of senior stakeholders in numerous project management experiences
  • Excellent business acumen, eager to learn and quick at grasping new topics and concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English; German or another Zalando-market language is a plus
