SUMMARY

The position focuses on both import & domestic styles for the  Special Collection/Collaborations calendar timeline. This individual is responsible for supporting all aspects of the product design process from concept through production, in conjunction with the  Special Collection/Collabs Assistant Designer.  This individual is responsible for maintaining organization and order throughout the product design process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Organizes and facilitates all secret surprise and collaboration meetings with creative directors in according with internal calendar timelines
  • Presents seasonal design trends to the creative directors at kick off meetings
  • Creates and maintains all CAD, line sheet and design board updates independently with the assistant designer on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for executing and sending all tech packs to import vendors along with set target pricing
  • Creates domestic hand over sheet for new styles in relation to domestic styles
  • Manages an internal WIP and communicates weekly with import and domestic partners to ensure a smooth and timely product delivery
  • Coordination of samples to and from the collaborator for fitting as needed
  • Sets fit review meetings with creative directors to ensure proper execution of styles
  • Attends all fittings and collaborates with pattern maker and sample coordinators in order to execute desired look of styles based on creative director or collaborator feedback
  • Oversees all fabric & print development, trim development, and lab dip development to ensure raw materials are received on time while staying within quality and cost parameters
  • Overseas the creation and maintenance of all BOMS per style, alongside the assistant designer
  • Checks in all fit samples as received and passes to fit tech for spec-ing
  • Maintains and organizes all sample racks
  • Executes testing of all new colors and fabrications before bulk orders are placed.
  • Actively participates in all monthly sales and return meetings

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Must have experience working with import & domestic partners
  • Experience with import cost negotiations
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to relay deadline dates to cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed.
  • Familiar and comfortable working in Adobe Suites Apps- specifically Illustrator & Photoshop
  • Must be able to execute CAD illustrations in Adobe Illustrator
  • PC literate with basic understanding and skills in using keyboard and Microsoft office products
  • Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency and be a team player
  • Must have experience in measuring garments and garment construction

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years design or product development work experience
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in fashion design or product development preferred
  • Dynamic analytical, problem solving and project management abilities
  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficient in Adobe applications- Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
