JOB PURPOSE

The Solution Architect will design end-to-end solutions, including the logical and physical architecture, supporting the delivery and implementation for Burberry's Digital Workplace and End-User Computing technologies. You will be passionate about technology, with an understanding of modern Digital Workplace initiatives and transformations including AI, automation, hybrid working and mobility. Initial focus will be on the Microsoft 365 technology stack, Mac, Windows and Mobile Management, along with emerging technologies / ways of working and how we develop our Employees day-to-day Digital Workplace experiences.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the solution architecture supporting our digital workplace technologies and ways of working is:
  • Adaptive for hybrid ways of working and can meet the ongoing demands of our business.
  • Innovative and leading edge; supporting a great user experience for our employees' specific personas.
  • Aligned to our security principles and strategy.
  • Aligned with our roadmaps and enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance process.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop an evolving solution architecture that support our Digital Workplace strategy. This includes alignment with known business priorities and roadmaps.
  • Drive the overall technical solutions through to service transition and identify downstream application service dependencies.
  • Ensures the integrity of any proposed solutions that are provided from other areas of the business that may impact our Digital Workplace
  • Identifying and exploiting the re-use of any components, patterns, techniques and documenting these for re-use.
  • Where required, establish and direct proof of concepts in innovation and make recommendations on technology adoption.
  • Raise and resolve any technical architectural and project issues/risks throughout the lifecycle of any delivery projects.
  • Ensuring delivery projects correctly account for solution infrastructure from an operational & supportability perspective, ensuring that all non-functional requirements (including SLAs for business continuity, availability, scalability and security) are addressed.
  • Ensure that delivery projects plan for all relevant architectural governance, design reviews and gating.
  • Work with the Security and Information Risk functions to ensure any solution meet the needs of our security standards and principles.
  • Supports wider IT relationship with technology vendors.


PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling the ability to comfortably communicate with key stakeholders, including senior business leaders, product owners, project managers and business analysts.
  • Experience in the architecture, design and implementation of End User Computing or Digital Workplace solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Digital Workplace technologies including Microsoft stack, including Windows 10/11, EMS Suite, AzureAD, O365, M365, Exchange, Teams, PowerPlatform etc.
  • Technical knowledge of device management platforms (Intune, WorkspaceOne and JAMF) and Workplace Virtualisation solutions (e.g. VMware, Citrix, Windows Virtual Desktop)
  • Cloud Solution Experience (e.g. Azure, AWS)
  • Persona development experience
  • Experience with evergreen workplace environments and workplace servicing management processes, approaches, tooling and impact
