Job Details

The Retail Lead is responsible for delivering a consistent and positive client experience and financial results. They ensure the development, execution and elevation of store staff and business. They represent the communication venue between retail and corporate office business partners. They ensure timely execution of results, solutions, and direction. They identify and execute business opportunities of all areas associated with clienteling, store operations, human resources and visual merchandising. The Retail Lead evaluates effectiveness and productivity of store and staff performance and acts accordingly. They are fiscally responsible for all aspects of their division. They represent strong communication between external and internal clients, and partner with corporate as needed.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate between the retail department, business partners, vendors and field management
  • Maintain and elevate succession planning within stores and to support future growth
  • Maintain selling and operational standards within the stores to drive repeat business
  • Support and work through Store Managers to drive results and build teams
  • Lead decision making process at store level that instills ownership and good judgment in Store Managers
  • Maintains, balances, and communicates store workload and implements potential solutions

 

Brand

  • Understands and maintains a Theory service/selling culture and environment
  • Confidently interacts with and represents senior management and the brand
  • Works through store teams to execute visual and merchandising direction, partnering accordingly
  • Ensures the highest quality of product information, product representation, and staff representation
  • Implements creative and innovative solutions to enhance the brand

 

Business

  • Drives results through strategic planning and fostering an environment to take smart risks and try creative ways of exceeding business objectives
  • Provides feedback to corporate office business partners to address global issues that affect the field and offer possible solutions
  • Establishes challenging, aggressive business and financial expectations for self and team

 

Communication

  • Shares a compelling vision and sense of purpose
  • Ensures communication is Theory language and translates according to audience
  • Inspires and motivates region through clear direction, feedback and expectations
  • Provides feedback to corporate office and business partners to address global issues that affect the field and offer possible solutions
  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with stores and office team

 

Standards and Training

  • Utilises tools and resources to further develop training of store teams
  • Ensures product is presented and maintained on sales floor and in back of house with integrity
  • Ensure consistent execution and follow up of store systems, policies and procedures
  • Provides balanced and consistent store results through store visits and analysis

 

People

  • Builds and maintains strong partnerships with store teams and corporate business partners
  • Recruits, hires, develops and retains top talent
  • Gives consistent coaching and counselling.
  • Team building: actively learn the store processes by working with store teams (opening, closing, shipment, floor set)
  • Partner with supervisor to identify and leverage top talent with in company
  • Leads team toward the company’s vision and mentors people across the organisation

The ideal candidate outlined above shows the following characteristics:

  • Fluent in English, additional languages like French are a plus
  • University degree
  • 5+ yrs experience in the luxury/contemporary fashion industry in retail management
  • Familiar with industry trends and forecasts
  • Meticulous mindset with strong business acumen & logic
  • Collaborative, independent and agile working style
  • Willingness to frequent travelling
