Job Details
The Head of Buying and Merchandising will lead and manage the buying and merchandising team.
They will be the link between retail, wholesale and Ecommerce. They will constantly challenge directions and priorities based on purpose and business goals.
They have advanced knowledge of merchandise planning, buying tools and process and play an instrumental role in evolving these in the company to implement a commercial strategy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- To develop the LTEU merchandising and buying function across all channels for Theory Womens and Theory Mens.
- Provide information to develop key concepts, key items, promotional strategies and assortments that are commercially viable and provide exciting store experiences in line with the brand's strategy.
- Ensure the financial success of Theory menswear & womenswear by meeting or exceeding sales & gross margin sales plans through involvement in wider pricing decisions and pricing strategy
- Have a strong eye for fashion trends observing details and seeking inspiration from the fashion industry.
- Execute the transfer of product knowledge seasonally to Marketing & Digital, ensuring product features, fabric & fit are accurate and used correctly in all marketing channels.
- Develop and establish annual and seasonal financial plans while clearly communicating the priorities of managing multiple seasons
- Know the competition inside and out with respect to financial condition, trends, marketing and product strategy; react accordingly to develop market share.
- Effectively select, coach, manager and develop the Theory European buying & merchandising function.
- To build relationships within the Global Theory merchandising and buying teams from LTEU and implement best practice from across the Fast Retailing group
The ideal candidate outlined above shows the following characteristics:
- Fluent in English
- University degree
- 5+ yrs experience in the luxury/contemporary fashion industry
- Familiar with industry trends and forecasts
- Solid experience of managing and developing team members
- Meticulous mindset with strong business acumen & logic
- Collaborative, independent and agile working style
- Proficient in Excel
