Shopify's Learning Acceleration team within Talent Development, provides core learning and development offerings for Shopifolk around the world. From Startup (our onboarding program for new employees) to Leading at Shopify (our leadership development program for managers), the team builds and delivers learning at every level. In order to achieve our goal of becoming a 100 year company, we need to ensure that all Shopifolk are prepared to fuel our future growth through their ongoing impact, guided by the Learning Acceleration team. The work of this team allows us to live true to one of our core values, be a constant learner, and gives growth-minded Shopifolk the support they need.

The Learning Insights Operations Specialist will provide insights on the effectiveness of org-wide critical Learning Programs to better inform program development, program iterations and content creation. Supporting our overall Talent learning strategy, with the goal of maximizing impact for Talent-driven learning initiatives. The Learning Insights Operations Specialist will collaborate with other teams (including Talent Research and Insights, Talent Platforms and People Analytics) and leverage Shopify data (or collect new data) to build data sets and translate into actionable insights.

You will identify new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis and reporting. You will build measurement programs, create reports, dashboards and other visualizations on data associated with employee experience, performance gaps, learning experiences, and learning evaluation. You will continue to evolve how we collect participant experience and attendance data, and work with specialty teams to develop new ways to measure the impact of our learning programs. You are proactive, curious and can see opportunities where others see challenges; we're a rapid growth company that changes quickly.

In this role you will:
  • Own and evolve how our team collects and interprets data about our learning programs and translates it into accessible insights.
  • Collaborate with our Employee Experience Researchers to surface trends and patterns in our existing research, identify areas of untapped opportunity and capture new insights about our learning programs.
  • Build measurement plans and success metrics for our programs and assess the impact of learning and development.
  • Build and maintain learning program and service dashboards to surface key insights and identify opportunities for program/service improvement.
  • Partner with other knowledge management specialists at Shopify to understand how we can elevate our existing processes.
  • Develop, document and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning Talent Development Program data.
  • Work cross-functionally with High Leverage Leadership and Talent Management teams to establish consistent reporting practices and informed recommendations on areas of improvement.


Qualifications

  • You have demonstrated experience analyzing data using statistical techniques and providing robust reports.
  • You're able to recognize trends and patterns and attribute these to learning objectives.
  • You love to think through data problems, build data sets and analyze results.
  • You have experience working with qualitative research and quantitative data.
  • You enjoy executing complex projects and have a track record for taking them from conception to launch.
  • You're passionate about creating the right kind of structure in an ambiguous environment.
  • You love to connect with others, build high-trust and influential relationships with employees and leaders at all levels.
  • You're great at simplifying complex ideas into concise messages or beautiful presentations.
  • You're learner-obsessed and seek to deeply understand educational roadblocks in order to build the best solutions for them.
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset and are always looking for ways to track and iterate on a program or product after launch.

It's nice if you also have:
  • Experience managing large repositories of information.
  • You have experience working with Medallia, Google Dashboards, Mode and Tableau.
